You would help them for the same reason I wouldn't.
If this were a one time thing of course I would try to help them so they weren't publicly embarrassed but if it were someone with a drinking problem I'd hope they were so humiliated they would be forced into taking a good, hard look at their behavior and maybe finally want to take some action to help themself.
