When posting do you owe it to those who will be reading you to have a well put together post? I'm not talking about the subject of your post, you're entitled to your opinion, I'm talking about spelling & knowing that a lot is two words, things of that nature.
Most of the time.........but I do that at work too. It just says dumbfuck if something is riddled with stupid errors. I can handle a few, but not alot. It's a personal quirk I guess. But I have a lot of dumbass friends, so it really doesn't kill me either.
Owe it to the readers? Fuck no. Owe it to myself? Yup.
Throwing in a typo or a wrong word gives the holier than thou's something to mock.

Good try, ramsey, but I know that you didn't throw in that unnecessary possessive apostrophe on purpose.
Other people's typos and errors generally don't bother me online. I don't like it when I do it though. I don't owe it to anyone else to get it right, but there's really no excuse for me to be lazy about it. I prefer reading intelligible posts rather than ones requiring deciphering, so I try (and sometimes fail) not to post like a dumbshit just because I can.

If the writer owes the reader an intelligible post then the reader owes it to the writer to read his post in entirety before deeming him an idiot, especially if it's five sentences or under. It's only fair.

I used to rag on people all the time for their shit spelling ways until I saw how lame it looked, that hasn't stopped me completely but now I usually just skim through posts and mutter dummy.
