Yeah, he died a long time ago in a car crash. Doesn't anyone play records backwards anymore? Oh yeah... Records... I was discussing The late great Stevie Ray Vaughn with a young hispanic guy about 10 years ago. He'd never heard of Texas Blues before and seemed very excited about it, so I was laying down all of the essentials that he'd need to pick up. As he was writing them down, I noticed that after each entry on his list he'd written "record?" which I thought was odd but continued to list them until my curiosity got the better of me. I asked "How come you wrote Texas Flood 1 record?" He said "Because you said he has all these records and I wanted to know if he was in the Olimpics or something?" I said... "WTF? Olimpics?" "Yeah, why does he have so many records if he's noit like an athlete or race car driver or something?" Boy... Did I feel old. hah

Stevie Nicks is on the cover of Rolling Stone. She's 66 now and she's still got it going on. I think she looks great. She talks about being a druggie and burning a hole in her nose from all the coke she did. She's given up all the bad stuff and only smokes a little weed when she's writing music these days. I think she's still relevant.

She's always been a good looking woman, but she was a very sloppy drunk. She has a place up in Scottsdale. Used to catch her at The Mason Jar from time to time. She was always down to earth and sweet unless she was wasted.

I was reading about the Grammy Awards being on tonight and a song was playing in the background, I liked it a lot and was surprised to learn it was Glen Campbell, nothing wrong with Glen but his isn't the type of music I'm normally drawn to.

He's up for 2 grammys tonight but given his wife said he can no longer communicate I doubt very much he will be there. He has Alzheimers and is in the advanced stages of it. He made a documentary that charted a lot of his disease in its early stages and this song was written then, it's called I'm Not Gonna Miss You. This doesn't sound like a typical country song to me, no twangy music, just a really nice tune.

Shoot, Duchess, that made me tear up. Very nice song and video.

At least Glen will never not miss music -- the part of the brain to deteriorate last is that which responds to music, touch and creativity.

Alzheimer's is such a difficult disease for loved ones; looks like the Campbells have learned how it affects the brain and have prepared as much as possible for his mind drifting into the past. I admired Ronald and Nancy Reagan for addressing it head on as well and devoting time and effort to research.

I had the same reaction. It's such a dreadful disease for those who care for the person with it, he doesn't know or remember anything, the heartache belongs to the loved ones.

That song is also up for an academy award in the original song category.

Weird disease, my grandmother died from it.

My grandfather mentioned to me that my grandmother was getting a little forgetful and the day he went into the hospital I spent the night with her so she wouldn't be alone. I woke her up the next morning and told her after I drive my kids to school I'll come back and we'll go to the hospital. She had absolutely no recollection that he went to the hospital yesterday. A little forgetful wasn't the word.

I couldn't leave her alone and I had to go to work so I'd pack her a lunch and drop her off at the hospital with my grandpa. Eventually the hospital called and yelled at me that I can't be leaving this lady up here for 8 hours a day. I guess she gave grandpa water when he wasn't supposed to have any and he almost choked to death.

It's funny, as a youngster that song always made me want to go to Wichita. It just seemed like a small country town, a simple and cool kind of a place.

When I got there it was big, and not cool.

I'm assuming he did something at the Grammy's?

I have a couple of black friends my age and they also think Kanye is one of the biggest assholes out there, too.

It's just his thing he does now. It's like a staple to the grammys for this era. 20 years from now people will be saying, remember when that guy used to always rush the stage when he or his hot wife didn't get the award?... That was cool. hah

I just read him & his writing partner won a Grammy for it last night.

Good thing no one is expected to take Grammy fashion seriously -

Like I've always said those Hollywood people are very weird. They work in circles that only form from dust clouds that remain from nuclear fallout that has fermented in the upper atmosphere. The oxygen is low and they have to substitute the air with bio-plasma. After so many years they get operations that turn them into plastic zombies that repeat words written in code on their multi colored rainbow dogs that eat table scraps that most indigent people living under a bridge would sell all their blood for. A perpetual ball of string rolling down a dryer lint filled hill until some drug snuffs the life out of them and everyone feels sorry for their sorry asses.
No idea what the real world is about, Teddy bears and perfumes are named after them.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

I don't know Gunnar.

Some people, like Beck himself -- even after Kanye seriously dissed him after the show for not being a true artist like Beyonce (bitch please) -- say that Kanye's a musical genius. Maybe he is a musical genius -- if so, I don't see/hear it.

Regardless, I appreciate an entertaining entitled off-the-rails asshole more than most. But Kanye's dipshittery being remembered as "cool"? Can't see that happening. I think Yeezus is gonna sink his own ship and drift into irrelevance as an embittered, bigoted, arrogant, divorced blowhard. He'll be nothing but a forgotten stain within the next 10 years, I think.

The woman on the right, under the ridiculous wig is Sia, or Sia Furler as she was originally known. She is from Adelaide, Australia. I have been following her music since about 2005. She is pretty talented. This whole new thing where she doesn't want to have her face shown is a bit weird though, it never used to be a thing.

Suddenly though, she is immensely shy and can't handle being in the limelight. A historical google image search will prove otherwise, however. I guess every rockstar needs their quirk.
