Human searches have been underway for 2 weeks. I suspect the parents know exactly where to find little Sherin Mathews and that she's dead (very much hope not though).

Her stepdad said that he put Sherin ^ outside in the alley to punish her for not drinking her milk and she vanished. She wasn't reported missing for 5 hours. According to police, the parents are not cooperating with them.

Bastards! She's little more than a baby! Why, why do people do this shit. There are so many people who would love the opportunity to parent a child. Jesus Christ, give your kid up so it has a chance for Godssake. Ugh.

Based on the comments I've read by locals, a lot of them would support that idea.

Here's the latest on the case: Nearly two weeks have passed, and 3-year-old Sherin Mathews is still missing. According to her father, she disappeared at 3 a.m. Oct. 7 while standing in an alley about 100 feet from their home in Richardson.

^ Wesley Mathews, 37, told Richardson police he put his daughter in timeout in the alley because she refused to drink her milk. Fifteen minutes later, he said, she was gone. Five hours later, he called police to report the incident, and an Amber Alert soon followed. Police arrested Mathews on a felony child endangerment charge, and he's since been released from jail. Child Protective Services agents removed Mathews’ 4-year-old sister.

Police have filed dozens of search warrants for the family's home and cars, one of which left the home between 4 and 5 a.m. Oct. 7. According to WFAA-TV (Channel 8), they retrieved 47 items, including blue string and “dark, hairlike fibers,” a pink blanket, a pink T-shirt, and a wooden fork and spoon set hanging on the wall. They also took the washer and dryer — significant because Wesley Mathews told police he did laundry in the early morning hours when his daughter vanished.

Mansfield police and the Johnson County Office of Emergency Management used drones to hunt for clues, combed a field and creek near the family’s home, and used DNA swabs on its Acura MDX. Police say that is the vehicle that left the house the night the girl vanished, a detail Mathews did not disclose to them.

They’re not alone in their search. The FBI, U.S. Marshals, search dogs and volunteers have canvassed the area around the Richland Meadows neighborhood, mediums have walked the alley and KXAS-TV (NBC 5) reporter joined a volunteer inside a storm drain. No clues have been discovered.

I've been following this story here. Very sad.

She'd have been found by now if she just wandered off.

I bet Daniel Salazar could find out what happened to her.

LOOKS LIKE THEY FOUND HER

Body of Sherin Mathews, 3-year-old Texas girl missing for weeks, believed found, police say

Authorities in Richardson, Texas, said Sunday they believe they have found the body of Sherin Mathews, the adopted 3-year-old girl who disappeared in the early hours of Oct. 7.

The Richardson Police Department said investigators discovered a body around 11 a.m. Sunday in a culvert beneath a road and believe it to be Mathews; however, police won’t identify the body until there is a positive identification by proper officials.

The location where the body was found is close to the Mathews’ home, according to Dallas News.

Mathews, who has a developmental disability, vanished two weeks ago after her father, Wesley Mathews, left her outside at 3 a.m. in an alleyway — allegedly frequented by coyotes — because she didn’t drink her milk.

Wesley, 37, said when he checked on her 15 minutes later, she was gone. He didn’t call police until five hours had passed.

Sherin's father reportedly did laundry while Sherin was missing, while Sherin's mother, Sini, said she was asleep during the ordeal.

In this Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 photo provided by the Richardson Texas Police Department, Wesley Mathews is shown. Mathews was arrested Saturday on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child. Authorities were searching Monday for the 3-year-old suburban Dallas girl after she went missing over the weekend when her Mathews allegedly made her stand outside in the middle of the night as punishment for not drinking her milk. Investigators found that on the morning Sherin went missing, someone had driven the family’s SUV away from their home in Richardson and didn’t return until an hour later. It was after the SUV returned that Wesley reported Sherin missing.

As they continued to investigate the 3-year-old’s disappearance, law enforcement had searched the Mathews’ home and took a number of items, including a vacuum cleaner, trash bags, hair fibers, cell phones and laptops.

Attorney Bree West, a former Dallas County assistant district attorney who’s not involved in the case, said that while most of the items collected at the Mathews home were pretty standard, some confiscated items — a blue string, dark hair-like fibers, vacuum contents, two yellow gloves, dish scrubber inside two grocery bags and the washer and dryer — had stood out to her.

Police had also taken DNA swabs, receipts, grass and other debris from three vehicles belonging to the Mathews family.

Wesley was charged with child endangerment but was reportedly released from jail on bond.

The Mathews had adopted Sherin in June 2016 after she was abandoned in her native country of India, the Dallas News reported.

LE is still awaiting official confirmation that the child's body found this weekend is Sherin Mathews. It's her, but they can't confirm it until the physical tests are done.

It was search dogs that found her body in the culvert.

IF her father killed her, I hope the autopsy reveals what was done so he can't claim she just wandered off and died. No matter how she died, Mr. Mathews was negligent for putting a 3-year-old outside in an alley at 3 a.m., assuming that's even true.

I'd really like to know where the family SUV went at 4 a.m. that morning and why Mathews never mentioned that bit to police. Were they searching for Sherin or were they hiding her body?

Investigators have asked neighbors and area businesses to check their video surveillance cameras for footage of a maroon Acura SUV owned by the Mathews family that they believe left the home between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Oct. 7.

Sherin's mother, Sini Mathews, is believed to have been sleeping when Sherin reportedly went missing. She does not face the same child neglect and child endangerment charges filed against her husband.

The couple appeared in court today asking for their 4-year-old daughter to be turned back over to their custody. The judge denied the request and a new hearing will take place on November 13th.

Sherin Mathews' father has been arrested.

He was out on bond for neglect and abandonment charges filed just after Sherin was reported missing.

Yesterday, the new felony charge of first-degree felony injury to a child was filed against him after he gave new answers to investigators' questions following the discovery of his daughter's body.

The felony crime is punishable by up to life imprisonment. Bond was set at $1 million, Richardson police Sgt. Kevin Perlich said.

Perlich did not say how Mathews' new answers deviated from his previous statements regarding the disappearance of his adopted daughter, Sherin Mathews. But Perlich said the elder Mathews gave different answers to police questions than before.

Here's the just-released change in Wesley Mathews' story.

The adoptive father of a missing 3-year-old North Texas girl has changed his story, saying she choked while drinking milk at 3 a.m. and that he took her body outside after he believed she had died.

Wesley Mathews, father of Sherin Mathews, presented his new story after going to the Richardson Police Department with his lawyer on Monday afternoon.

Richardson Police are still waiting Tuesday for confirmation that the body of a small child found Sunday morning in a culvert about half a mile from the Mathews' home is Sherin. Investigators have said that they believe it is.

In his initial story given to investigators after the child vanished Oct. 7, Mathews said that he sent the girl outside as punishment for not drinking her milk, and when he returned about 15 minutes later, the child was gone.

More details of Wesley Mathews' latest claims to police are being released.

Now he claims that Sherin died in the garage of the family home ^ in Richardson, Texas.

He says that he forced her to drink milk in the garage because of her developmental disability which required feeding her whenever she was hungry (in order to promote growth).

Then, he says, he noticed her breathing slowed and he knew she was dead when he could no longer get a pulse.

So, he moved her body, presumably to the culvert/drain where her body was found over two weeks later.

I don't believe anything he says at this point, aside from Sherin likely having some developmental problems (which may have frustrated and pissed him off).

A loving father would have called 911 or otherwise sought immediate assistance if his daughter was choking to death. He wouldn't worry about covering his ass and he could never put his daughter's little body in a cold dark drain. Piece of shit.

He does look like he's from India.

Mathew, Mathews, Matthew, and Matthews are fairly common surnames for Christian regions in India.

I don't know for sure if Wesley Mathews is a Christian of Indian heritage, but that's what I assumed.
