Living in the past?
What happened to Jimbone?

We share an appreciation for EARLY Elton John, I think.

'Rocket Man' is another really good one. Thanks for posting that Clang -- hadn't listened to it in a long long time. Smiley_emoticons_smile

You're welcome, HOTD.Smiley_emoticons_smile

I'm feeling the love tonight---the peace the evening brings.

The Lion King soundtrack was the first CD I ever bought.

You have a beautiful soul, Clang, as with that pain in the ass Maggot I believe you're a genuinely decent individual.

I got the new Robert Plant album but haven't listened to it yet. I liked the one with Alison Krauss.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Love 'Can't You See'. The Marshall Tucker Band is awesome. I've always liked this one too.

Mags, I'm interested to hear what you think of the new Robert Plant release. I haven't heard it yet.

It's pretty good I like a few songs on it but can tell he's struggling. Robert at on time was doing a concert and the power went out and people could still hear him in the back rows, he had a powerful voice.

Plant has become ornery in his old age (or maybe he always has been).

The StarTribune’s music guy (for at least 30 years) is Jon Bream.

I’m sure he’s been to every concert in this city in that time and I’m sure he’s interviewed every big name musician you can imagine.

Just last week, he recorded an interview with Plant, that he titled for the newspaper “Prickly Plant.” It was in last week’s Sunday.

Anyway, Plant doesn’t want to talk about Jimmy Paige or LZ at all.

At all.

And, I’m not upset with him, that was a loooong time ago, and he has to answer all the same questions from every city’s music critic, so I do understand... but, at the same time, Plant’s fans are essentially paying him (concerts, records, etc), so it’d be nice to have him understand a bit.

Anyway, I have not heard his latest, but my guess is it’s not that great.

If he's been doing this for over 30 years, then he already knew what the answer was going to be. Robert's response has always been the same consistently since Zepplin broke up and I don't blame him. He's not there to discuss Page or Zepplin. The fans that are paying to see his shows now are paying to see and hear his latest material. Some may be die hard Zepplin fans, but I doubt they're there to pay some sort of homage to Zepplin. The stuff he did with Allison krause was not my cup of tea but it was well done. Dude still has a great set of pipes.

Even if he's half as good as he was he is still better than many out there.
