Where was your outrage?
#1
"Where was your outrage?" posts do nothing to help a current situation or crisis. It is a diversion from the current topic at hand and seeks only to place blame and obsolve yourself.

Outrage is a great well to drink from to enhance the arguments of yesterday and today. Chain events and chess are both great examples. Cause and effect.

Here is my question to the republicans who voted for or supported Trump because of his stance on abortion: You seem to care so much about the unborn, should not the same care be giving to those that are living? Is it only unborn in America that you care about?

Here is an arguement I have heard against immigrant children by Republicans: If you care so much about them-why don't you house them? WEll here is my question for you: If you care so much about not aborting babies-then why don't you adopt all of them?!

I am trying to formulate my arguement here and I am not sure it is coming out clear.

Here is my next arguement: (I think it is a pretty good analagy by the way!) Feel free to rip it apart!

If I saw a person drowning, I wouldn't just look at them and say, "Well, its too bad that the other political party created a law where there are no life vests on this dock. I can't help you, blame them. I hate this law." I mean, if there were such a law anyway.
No, I would use my creativity that GOD gave me and find a way to help this drowing person. I don't care what country they are from.

You are making an assumption that the person wants your help.

You are also making an assumption they are drowning.

I understand these arguements.
There have been homeless camps where I live, and people tried to go help them and they didn't want help, and some didn't want to give up drugs. So it caused others to throw up their hands in disgust.

The arguments aren't comparable. Ducks feeding aren't the same as families being separated. Nor is people not wanting help comparable to those looking for refuge.

Love Child, have you heard anything about where the girls are, where the babies & toddlers are?

Sometimes children are used as a diversion, some have been kidnapped to bring to the border. Another thing to ponder.

Children being used

WASHINGTON—Smugglers south of the border have exploited every loophole in American border security for decades.

Right now, a disturbing trend shows that children are being used to cross the border illegally with adults, who will then claim asylum as a family unit and hope to be released into the interior of the United States more quickly.

“We’ve got intelligence that alien smuggling organizations are making children available to single adults so that they can come and claim to be a family unit and not be detained,” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Deputy Director Tom Homan said on May 7.

“We have situations where the same child has crossed the border several times in a time period with people claiming to be the parent. So obviously, there’s been trafficking.”

In fiscal year 2017, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security saw 46 cases of children being used fraudulently by adults crossing illegally. In the first five months of fiscal 2018, 191 cases have been reported.

Zero was replying to my drowning story, saying "Maybe they really aren't drowning"
And I agree-Ducks feeding is not the same as families being separated.
It is a "cute" distraction people tell themselves to make themselves feel better about current situations.

BG-did you fail to notice the part where she says, "Where was your outrage in 2016?" That was exactly my point in the first post.

What was your reason for posting the video?

I remember living with this "Christian" lady who asked me why I wanted to help this old lady who sat outside our shop everyday. She said, "Is it so you will feel better? So you can say you did something nice?"
My response is, "No, it is because it is the right thing to do"

What person wants to sleep on the street as people are passing by, and cars driving by? Of course they will say they are fine. They are also scared.
The best thing I could do for her because she wouldn't go into a shelter was to sit with her and enjoy a meal with her on the side of the street. And listen to her.

I think you rose to the occasion and did the right thing regarding the circumstances. When you listened to her what did she tell you?

We must be aware of the manipulation used against us by politicians and the media.

And you weree doing what I requested, which was giving me arguements. I was preparing my arguements for FB! Smiley_emoticons_biggrin

I just sat and talked with the lady, she could have been anyone's grandmother. I asked her where she was from and listened to her story. I am not sure how much of it was true, but that didn't matter when I was listening to her.

Well, since I am in this forum I might as well tell her story-because there may be some validity to it. She told me she was the wife of an officer that got shot or killed while on duty. She had money for a while, but it ran out, then she became homeless, she followed someone up to WA from CA and then they ditched her-that is when I started seeing her on the sidewalk.

I asked an officer about her once and asked if there was anything more I could do for her. Or if there was a way we could check out her story. I don't recall his answer.

She had a routine down. I would watch her. She would eat breakfast at Fred Meyer-usually someone would give her something or some money, then walk down to the library, and by the evening she would end up in front of our shop. The hotel next door offered her a space in their lobby, and when I asked her about it she said, "Yeah, but with strings". I'm not sure of that either, but like I said, it didn't really matter if I believed her or not. I told her about resources I knew about, and then I would just sit with her sometimes.
