She's probably just trying to determine if you'll fit in the deep freezer with the last boarder. I wouldn't worry about it being anything sexual.

RE: RE: the 2016 trivial drivel thread - Maggot - 06-14-2016

Is there a common dining area? Maybe some Sunday meatloaf or something?

RE: RE: the 2016 trivial drivel thread - Donovan - 06-14-2016

I suppose there could be if I was down for it, mostly I keep holed up in my room. Living in somebody else's house is disconcerting.

I was going to suggest the same thing, Sally. If I were you, Mr. Dono, I would go out in the backyard and look for recent concrete additions to the patio and/or freshly dug dirt which might resemble a grave....Also, does she receive your mail with possible checks?

I probably would set up a spy cam to make sure she is not spiking your mouth wash with arsenic or maybe, anti-freeze.......

Beware of the crazies out there!

You're depressing the shit out of me. If she tries to smother you with a pillow while you're sleeping it might just be because she's trying to put you out of your misery.

Or he was snoring. The bastard!

RE: RE: the 2016 trivial drivel thread - Donovan - 06-15-2016

It isn't depressing, I like solitude. It's peaceful. Especially when I'm considering my options and regrouping from whatever fucked up relationship I've just been excised out of. I'm seriously considering getting the fuck outta this town but that requires planning and forethought, and when I'm in that mode I tend to not think about idle ways to waste money I might need for the trip.

I don't want a car that drives by itself on the highway, I just want one that meets me at the door.

I recently read about people buying bags of pure caffeine and inadvertently killing themselves and just now I read about some people killing themselves, again inadvertently, by using high doses of Imodium. It was said it gives a cheap high. Jesus.

That's probably not a bad thing though at least they're off the streets.

Excellent point. I do wonder though- if that 'high' remains for at least a few hours after you have expired and crossed over the veil.

Well, that is disappointing.

I'm hoping the UK Referendum to exit the European Union, BRexit, gets voted down today. According to polls, the vote is split nearly evenly between those who want to remain in the EU and those who want to exit the EU.

I think the UK would be screwing its economy majorly by exiting, and screwing the global financial market as well (at least in the short term). It's a huge deal in Europe. The British politicians pushing for the exit share a lot of Trump's views in terms of immigration and the belief that the UK will become great again if it cuts off from its partners.

I haven't seen any interest in BRexit here, but if anyone wants to know more about it or just wants a good laugh, I thought John Oliver's piece was hilarious and informative.

RE: RE: the 2016 trivial drivel thread - HairOfTheDog - 06-23-2016

Oh shit, the vote leads have been going back and forth all day between whether the UK will stay or leave the EU. With most of the votes in, it's looking highly likely that the UK will leave the EU.

Some aspects of what's happening there are strikingly similar to what's happening here in the lead up to our election. Older, blue collar, white, anti-immigration peeps make up the large portion of those who want to exit. Londoners, Scots, younger adults, businesses, all of the economists, and more educated peeps in the UK make up the large portion of those who want to stay.

If the UK leaves the EU, Prime Minister Cameron is essentially out on his ass quickly. The financial markets are already reacting.

"The financial markets are already reacting."

Overreacting. It's going to take two years to sort it all out.
Why panic now?
(Gold up 5% in eight hours.)

I was listening to some people making comparisons yesterday. A Brit said the only difference was that they wouldn't get a do over in 4 years, this is forever. They also talked about how this would affect the war on terrorism and sharing information, there will be no more sharing, the UK are on their own. It was someone from NBC who said that, I can't recall who.

RE: RE: the 2016 trivial drivel thread - Maggot - 06-24-2016

I never understood why they even started the EU, I've always thought it was a bailout system for countries that overspent their budgets.
