Meh, I've totally lost the point in this thread but I've said it before...
I don't understand how the term "nigger" can be used again and again and again in current music (by black artists and white artists) and yet it's still considered offensive and somehow off limits by some. It's only a word and it only carries as much weight as you give it. And how hypocritical is it that some people can use it with impunity and others are crucified for using the same exact term?
Makes no sense to me. Similarly, I don't have a problem with any group making fun of themselves (and teaching their kids that it's NOT a true reflection of who they are). You set your own destiny; you're not defined by your race, gender etc.

Just for my own clarity, it's okay to fuck with someone about their child who drowned but it's not okay to tell black jokes if one's lover was a black man. Do I understand that correctly?
