RE: NFL 2014 - Maggot - 02-07-2015

Gronk has an entire family that are stars. They all are great sports people and I think his Dad was in the Olympics or something. He's a happy guy. I think he has 5 brothers.

Yeah, he is. He's been a lot of fun to watch this past week. I've seen some clips of him doing the late night shows and he was a laugh riot at their victory parade.

Dude is a party animal. Him and Nick both are pretty famous U of A alums down here for the obvious reasons but their epic party stories are ammusing as well.

Ummm... Shady.

I don't understand this comment. Shady is not any kind of FA. He's signed thru 2017. Unless you mean it'd be "shady" to force Maclin to stay here with a tag... but that's the business of football.

RE: NFL 2014 - Cutz - 02-09-2015

Just because I was looking at McCoy's contract... I wonder if Demarco Murray will command 9M on the open market. Jamaal Charles is locked down for just under 7M a year, Lynch makes 7.5M a year. Only Foster (8.7M/y), McCoy (9M/y), and Peterson (14M/y... omfg) make over 8M per year. I could definitely see Murray wanting at least 8M per year and it's not crazy to think a team would give him 9. Should be interesting.

Another aside... the Eagles have 3 of the top 20 best paid RBs in the NFL if you consider James Casey a FB, which some sources do. He's kinda in between a FB and TE. But even Sproles is in the top 20 RB contracts. He's totally worth the money.

Shady will always be part of any salary negotiations.

RE: NFL 2014 - Donovan - 02-09-2015

Bills just picked up Richie Incognito. Interesting to see how much of the schoolyard Bully attitude Ryan will try to instill on the team like he did with the Jets. Hey maybe they can pick up that Greg Hardy fella now that he paid his ex to ST FU if she knew what was good for her. Carolina doesn't want him back.

RE: NFL 2014 - Donovan - 02-09-2015

Not for nothing, shouldn't this be in a new thread marked NFL 2015 by now? Jeez Duchess quit napping.

You should see if Coach Bellicheck has anything that will help DEFLATE your appetite. hah

If you're going to take a test you think you will fail, wear a Seahawks jersey. That way you pass when you shouldn't have.

RE: NFL 2014 - HairOfTheDog - 02-21-2015

I've been interested in a conclusion to the whole deflate gate situation. But, I don't think there's ever gonna be one.

Now it's being said that an NFL official was fired because he tried to pilfer a game ball to sell. Those balls are supposed to be donated to charity after the game.

And, a couple of days ago ESPN ran a story about a Patriots' locker room attendant trying to introduce an unapproved ball into the game. But, turns out, he was handing the ball to an official. It was a ball which reportedly had been switched out for the one to be sold, about which the locker room attendant couldn't be expected to know jack shit.

Crazy. I think username was probably right upthread. The NFL needs to have a strict game ball security process implemented to avoid more ball-related breaches or scandals (be they grounded in fact or fiction). Kinda sad it's even an issue.

Here's the craziest part. The NFL does have a strict policy regarding game balls. This is nothing new. It's just that before Belicheck and the Pats came along nobody ever thought to push that envelope. I guess you can say they are "innovative.?"

Can’t post the link myself, but Duchess maybe you can?

Vikings fans donating to Saints punter Thomas Morstead’s Children’s Cancer charity.

Pretty cool story, and I believe, very reflective of Minnesotans in general (if I do say so myself).

Would you like it in the current NFL thread (2017) or do you want it right here in 2014?

2017, oops.

I forgot that some moron had to pull out the NFL thread from 3 years ago for something idiotic.

Thanks.

Does this look familiar?

RE: NFL 2014 - Duchess - 01-19-2018

Yeah, it sure does. That was the last time we won the East.

I coulda sworn I have my own picture of that but I can't find it. I'm certain I took it when I went to training camp. Weird.

RE: NFL 2014 - Maggot - 01-19-2018

I meant to put this in this years NFL thread. Crying-into-tissue I was thinking of the Friday bobbies thread and thinking with the wrong head. i should just go back to bed, now my face is red.
