PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - Duchess - 02-19-2014

Georgia has a new license plate & I think the fur is going to fly.

Georgia officials have once again approved a specialty license plate featuring the Confederate battle flag, infuriating civil rights advocates and renewing a debate among those who believe the symbol honors Confederate heritage and those who see it as racially charged.

I blame ramsey for all the current provocation in Georgia (but not the historical shit).

She's trouble.

I brought the shitty weather to GA too.

You've got a gray cloud hanging over you, but the sun will burst through...maybe. Smiley_emoticons_wink

So, you've been a peach for about 6 months now, I think.

Never checked out Georgia, even though I have a very old friend who lives in Marietta and I'd love to visit her and the kids. Always wanted to visit Savannah too.

What are some of the things you like best and least about GA so far, ramsey?

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - ramseycat - 02-19-2014

5 months so far. I do like the weather minus the two storms. People really are friendlier down in the south. I love Zaxby's. And Chic Filet. Lol. A few things I noticed is that there a lot if pawn ships and psychics down here.

I don't like the traffic.

Marietta is very close to woodstock.

My mom lived there for 10 years in Alpharetta and Deluth. I never wanted to come back after a visit. I would love to move there.

They are here too along with those cash for car title places and the loan sharks who give people a little money before payday and then take their whole check in return for a small loan.

That reminds me of being stationed at Fort Benning. The main road on and off the base was called Victory Drive-and the only 2 types of businesses on that road were pawn shops and tittie bars, usually in tandem.

Thanks for your service!

Have you read the flag burning thread?

I'm sorry, I didn't serve :/ Husband did. Poor man received many article 15's because of me.....

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - Maggot - 02-20-2014

Maybe a rainbow flag would be better?

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - ramseycat - 02-20-2014

They also gave all these $20 Chiro places. I don't know about you but I'm not going to a $20 chiro.

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - Duchess - 02-20-2014

I wouldn't go to one who charged one hundred times that.

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - ramseycat - 02-20-2014

I've never been. I've always been afraid the chirp will crack something the wrong way and paralyze me. I know people that swear by it.

Article 15's because of you?

Interesting. What did you do?

Care to share?

Not sure if it is the same way on bases now, but 30 years ago, the service member was held accountable for their families actions.

Wives were expected to dress and act a certain way, and I didn't conform well.

For example, bikinis weren't allowed to be worn on base. I wore mine pretty much constantly & hubby would get written up for indecent exposure every time I got caught.

I missed a stop sign on base once, hubby got a $70.00 ticket

I told his CO to take a flying leap into a cesspool once-that one earned hubby a week at the barracks (the equivalent of being grounded in the military)

Unfortunately, I was the reason hubby never got past E4 Smiley_emoticons_razz

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - Maggot - 02-20-2014

I only made it to E-4 after 4 yrs then I got out, always having someone telling me what to do with no hope of ever changing started getting to me. Not very military of me but after I got out they started doing piss tests so it was all good anyways.

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - Midwest Spy - 02-20-2014

I had a Navy Petty Officer as a direct supervisor for my last 6 months in Norway and an Army Staff Sergeant as a direct supervisor while in Panama. They both had it out for me, probably because I thought they were both worthless morons.

But as Maggot pointed out, the biggest pain in the ass while serving was the amount of people that mind your business.

It reminds me of Office Space where the main character has 4 different people asking him about his TPS reports.

RE: PROVOCATIVE LICENSE PLATES - Cynical Ninja - 02-22-2014

Its a bit late to get antsy about the Confederate flag now! I think the damage has already been done! Its like the Germans banning the swastika, a bit late for that krauts! The damage has been done!
