SUMMER 2014 - Duchess - 08-30-2014

The calendar disagrees with me but this is the last Summer weekend. Did you have a good Summer, Mockers? Can you relate to this video? Yes, I can.

RE: SUMMER 2014 - Duchess - 08-30-2014

...do you have a favorite Summer memory? Doesn't have to be this Summer. That video made me recall some of the things I did like that in my late teens. Good times, good memories.

No. Not the best. I'm too damn tied to my daughter's emotions/successes (and falls). I can't imagine feeling truly happy for any length of time until I see some sun shine in HER eyes.

I have discovered the show Impractical Jokers that is guaranteed to cause me a belly laugh or two. It's good medicine for me.

It's amazing how out children affect every part of our lives. It can be heartbreaking sometimes. User, I hope your daughter gets better and smiles.

RE: SUMMER 2014 - Maggot - 08-30-2014

I was just swimming and the sun had just gone down and it was twighlight and the pool light was on and I was feeling frisky and I was going to take my shorts off and then...................
A skunk walked across the edge of the pool. I dove like a beaver and came up on the other side very scared. He didn't spray but it was the end of my swimming foray. I have to get rid of that guy. I smell him every once in a while but never see him. I think he thinks its his stomping grounds.

I've been sprayed & it takes a hella long time to get out of hair.

RE: SUMMER 2014 - cannongal - 09-03-2014

Doesn't feel like we had much of a summer. August was kind of cold for this area. My kids started school on Aug 25th, so their summer ended early.

The summer did go by super fast. It usually does.

I figure I've still got a good two months of outdoor living weather. I'm not letting go of this season easily. I really hate being confined during the winter. It purely sucks.

Anyone in your neighborhood have chickens or ducks in their yard? Skunks are notorious for stealing eggs, and tend to stick around if there's a source close by.

The guy up the road has chickens but I believe he is after the moles in my lawn, I see his little swirly patches around the lawn often.
