President Trump took aim at social media giants Facebook and Twitter in a series of tweets Friday evening, claiming the platforms have unfairly censored conservative voices.
Trump’s message follows Facebook announcement on Thursday that it had banned several conspiracy theorists and other political extremists from the platform.
“I am continuing to monitor the censorship of AMERICAN CITIZENS on social media platforms,” Trump wrote just before 7 p.m. on Friday
“This is the United States of America — and we have what’s known as FREEDOM OF SPEECH! We are monitoring and watching, closely!!” he added.
Facebook said Thursday that it had banned InfoWars host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, as well as Paul Joseph Watson, who works for the conspiracy site.
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and far-right provocatuers Milo Yiannopoulos and Laura Loomer were also given the boot from Facebook.
“So surprised to see Conservative thinkers like James Woods banned from Twitter, and Paul Watson banned from Facebook!” Trump wrote in another tweet.
Woods, an actor and conservative political activist, was reportedly locked out of his Twitter account after captioning a tweet about the Mueller probe with the hashtag “#HangThemAll.”
“The wonderful Diamond and Silk have been treated so horribly by Facebook,” Trump added in another tweet.
Diamond and Silk, sisters who built a brand as pro-Trump video bloggers, said in 2018 that the social media platform had limited their reach on the website.
Facebook reportedly wrote to them that their brand was “unsafe” to the community.
“They work so hard and what has been done to them is very sad – and we’re looking into. It’s getting worse and worse for Conservatives on social media!” he wrote.

Because someone is Conservative it does not mean that they should be banned. Mocked, derided, laughed at.....absolutely but banning them BECAUSE their political opinion is different to yours is low.
Trump recognises this is going on and is supporting those who have been banned unjustly and because they are conservative. Diamond and Silk, James Woods, and Paul Joseph Watson are all examples of that. There are idiots too like Alex Jones who I do not think anyone has missed or would BUT he does not deserved to be banned because he has every right to act like a clown and be laughed at for it.
Some people do not get this and these people are so ideologically skewed that they treat their resistance to such virtues as free speech as a threat. They are unpatriotic, unreasonable, supporters of totalitarianism and under the irrational idea that hey are supporters of all the things they denounce.
