RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 01-22-2018

Nobody here has expressed anything remotely suggesting that they've lost sleep over yet another government shutdown. We've simply discussed the facts surrounding the political event and shared our opinions about it and the potential impacts.

You roosters (limited to Biggie and Mags) simply get your feathers all ruffled whenever you read women engaged in discussion that conflicts with your emotional loyalties and political beliefs, or when you post fiction as fact and get called on it.

Get over it, or not. I don't mind your defensive projections and don't think any of the other 'crazy bitches' here care much either. We like you sensitive cocks anyway. 11

Sometimes I want to say, hey, watch this and then I blurt out bs just to see their wings flap. It's what I do for fun.

.
I have mixed feelings on the Donald. I believe several of his positions and policies do have merit.

However, the pathetic way he acts, and conducts himself, causes us all to loose sight of them, and "flushes them all down the toilet!

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 01-23-2018

Don't be a looser.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 01-23-2018

hah I get a kick out of some of the replies and perceptions. it's amusing to me. Maybe the kids are mad that their team's tantrum amounted to just slush. But at any rate president Trump wins again. The man that saved America from another Clinton.

The Clintonista was loathed more than the Trumpster! Lesser of the two evils! hah

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 01-23-2018

I don't have a political 'team'.

As I said, I think most every (but not all) of the senators in both parties was looking for a win for their party/team, rather than a reasonable and fair compromise that would work fine for the majority of Americans and could have prevented a predictably short-lived shutdown.

The Dems were pandering to the hardliners on the left and the Republicans (including the President) were pandering to the hardliners on the right. That's how it's been for too long now, in my opinion. The voices of the majority of Americans get drowned out by the bullshit-flinging extremists.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 01-23-2018

I'm so relieved, it was horrible!

Just because some of you express apathy about other people's well-being because it doesn't affect YOU personally, doesn't make people who do consider, discuss and care about the potential impacts anything but engaged decent people. No amount of lame sarcasm changes that fact Biggie.

It's good that those yahoos in the congress knew better than to let it go it past the weekend. IIRC, those of us who weighed-in figured they'd approve a revised CR pretty quick because they wouldn't want to face the backlash stemming from another partisan political pissing match.

If they'd instead kept the government shutdown throughout the work week, it would not have been horrible for YOU obviously. But, considering they did not pass legislation to make sure military personnel got paid this time out, it could have been more than just an inconvenience for thousands of service people who have bills to pay and families to feed.

Even you should be able to understand that simple non-partisan concept and reasoning. However, just because you should be able to understand it clearly doesn't mean you do. Anyway, I'm glad you relieved yourself.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 01-23-2018

Hopefully real immigration reform can be realized, fund the wall, increased drone activity on the border and increase border patrol capabilities like Obama, Biden, Shummer and a bunch of other Dems voted yes on back in 2006 or so. They just never voted on funding it. A slick move by a slick organization. DACA is just a talking point. The real issue is immigration reform going forward.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 01-23-2018

What you just posted is a false talking point, Maggot.

Under George W, the number of border control agents budgeted and assigned more than doubled to 20,000. Under Obama, that figure didn't grow nearly as much, but it did continue to grow to nearly 21,500. And, there were significantly less illegal border crossings and more deportations than previous administrations combined.

In fiscal year 2012, $18 billion was spent by the Obama administration on immigration enforcement programs run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the US-Visit program, and Customs and Border Protection, which includes the Border Patrol (and hundreds of miles of fencing).

Immigration enforcement topped the combined budgets of the FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Secret Service by about $3.6 billion dollars.

As a result, Obama was criticized by the far left for being the "Deporter 'N Chief". Meanwhile, the far right propagandists labeled him as pro open-borders and falsely claimed he did nothing about illegal immigration, especially after he passed temporary measures allowing children of undocumented immigrants to apply for deferred deportation while a long term plan/solution for them was considered by Congress (thus, DACA, which is expiring in March by orders of President Trump, still without a legislative plan/solution in place all these years later).

Those are facts we've covered before -- they haven't changed just because some immigration hardliners still find them inconvenient.

Anyway, I agree with you that bipartisan Immigration Reform legislation is long overdue and have been frustrated with Congress's lack of progress for more than 5 years now.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 01-23-2018

The last time they pulled this shit it really affected consumer confidence, we had a drop in revenue because of it. I care about our service members and appreciate their service. We could of also got hit by a gigantic aids infested meteor but that didn't fuckin happen either.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 01-23-2018

You're in a political discussion and debate forum, Biggie. We often talk about what's going on in real time, which way things may or may not turn out, what different scenarios would mean, our opinions about it all -- just like in any topical forum.

It would be pretty fucking dead and boring in here if we waited to discuss every political incident and event until after the fact or pretended to believe/agree with each other when we don't, much like it would be in a sports forum if no one participated until after the game and then agreed with each other's commentary on all the plays and players.

Anyway, not one person here insisted or predicted that this was going to be a catastrophic long-term shutdown, so it's really not clear who you're trying to prove wrong or mock here and for what reason. It's like air mocking. But, if it feels good, don't stop until you get enough.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 01-23-2018

The perceived lack of empathy does not indicate apathy and you were insulting in your demeanor and tone.

This belly ain't rubbin itself.
