John McCain's response to that fat fuck trump's congratulatory call to Putin -

“An American president does not lead the Free World by congratulating dictators on winning sham elections. And by doing so with Vladimir Putin, President Trump insulted every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election to determine their country's future, including the countless Russian patriots who have risked so much to protest and resist Putin's regime."

Trials & Tribulations

Judge Curiel, who Trump claimed was biased against him because Curiel is Mexican (Curiel is American) ruled last month that Trump was within his rights to build a border wall and could start in San Diego. Trump and team have chosen to hold off; they don't have the $20 billion budget they're requesting.

Today, however, Trump and his attorneys lost their legal battle to stave off the defamation case filed against Trump by Summer Zervos. Zervos claims Trump groped her while she was a contestant on “The Apprentice,” in 2007 and then ruined her reputation by calling her a liar when she told her story.

Lawyers for Trump argued that he was immune from the suit in state court while serving as president, but Judge Jennifer Schechter ruled that there was “absolutely no authority” to justify tossing out litigation over “unofficial conduct.”

“No one is above the law,” Schechter wrote in her 18-page decision. “Nothing in the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution even suggests that the President cannot be called to account before a state court for wrongful conduct that bears no relationship to any federal executive responsibility.”

The judge also declined an alternative request from Trump’s attorneys that the case be put on hold until he left office. “There are no compelling reasons for delaying plaintiff’s day in court here,” Schechter wrote.

The ruling raises the possibility that Trump could be ordered to submit to a deposition about his conduct toward Zervos and perhaps other women, as well. Trump’s lawyer in the case, Marc Kasowitz, signaled on Tuesday that he would fight any such moves.

It's probably a little better than striking a nuclear deal with a dictator or opening once closed borders with trade agreements with another one or something.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 03-22-2018

So...Ben Carson ordered a $31,000 table for his office, got caught, tried to deny it but emails proved a different story, he knew. Fast forward, lawmakers bring him before them to explain himself and he blamed his wife. Ahahahaha. Which is a whole other story because just what the hell is she doing making decisions, anyway...now Rep. Tenney from NY is blaming the deep state for buying the table. These people are seriously fucked up. hah

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Donovan - 03-22-2018

Heard something interesting yesterday that is potentially a HUGE deal for sports fans but is being buried by all the Russia/Porn star/tariff/tweetstorm chaos.

It goes like this: the new tax "cut" bill, shoved down our throats and rushed through a partisan Congress with zero vetting or proofreading, or even cursory reading for that matter, has been found to contain massive loopholes and errors that stand to cost billions to certain entities.

One such error has to do with a "like-item" trade clause, which originally was designed to protect farmers from having to pay taxes on swapped items like farm machinery etc. Basically, if two entities or people traded items of identical or similar value, they did not have to pay purchase taxes. It applies to items, stock options, real estate, livestock...

And pro athletes.

The problem is that Trumps little cash grab also "fixed" the language of the clause, limiting it to real items and not such things as, oh, let's say player contracts. In short: professional sports teams could fi d themselves liable for millions of dollars in taxes every time they acquire or pick up a trade, based on some as-yet unknown way of measuring a player's value.

http://deadspin.com/the-new-tax-bill-could-unintentionally-force-sports-tea-1823897230

Imagine your favorite team being unable to pick up a qb when the star gets hurt, or having to leave a shit player on the roster because no one can afford the taxes. Technically that is the current state of the tax law.

Wow. This presidency is doing stupid shit even I couldn't see coming...

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Donovan - 03-22-2018

Oh yeah: the Cheetoh's personal lawyer just resigned. You know it's bad when even the consigliere bails on you.

Some of the pool reporters were laughing the other day when his staff hustled him out of the WH to go play golf just so he'd stay off Twitter. Ahahaha. He's a fuckin' idiot!

This hasn't been reported by the media yet so take it for what it's worth, General McMaster out and John Bolton is in.

Unfortunately, it's true.

John Bolton ^ is just as bad a choice for National Security Advisor as was Mike Flynn (which is probably the worst presidential appointment I've ever witnessed).

Also unfortunately, the powerful role is not subject to Senate approval. So, Bolton's appointment will face no challenge.

Bolton was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the U.S.'s invasion of Iraq, even after it was irrefutably shown that Saddam Hussein was wrongly accused of aiding the 911 terrorists and hiding WMDs.

Bolton advocated for the U.S. to launch a military strike against Cuba several years back (for reasons that also turned out to be total bullshit).

Bolton has promoted the idea that the U.S. and Israel should preemptively strike Iran.

Bolton appears to think war with North Korea is a viable solution.

This guy is a complete hawk, conspiracy theorist, and often proven to be just plain wrong when it comes to his reasons for encouraging military force over diplomacy.

Rand Paul must be about ready to burst. All of those 'non-interventionist' promises Trump made during the campaign were about the only things that lined up nicely with both Libertarians like Paul and democratic socialists like Bernie.

Now, we're sitting back and watching Trump oust the more strategic and diplomatic members of his inner circle of advisors and replace them with FOX extremists and military hawks. I'm very sorry to see McMaster go.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Donovan - 03-22-2018

If he puts all the Fox people on his cabinet, what's he gonna obsessively watch on tv?
