When PlaidShirtGuy looked bewildered and mouthed "whaaat", I related. That's me everyday.   hah

Trump's public statement the other day about his 'A+ unsung success' handling of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico had even some of his strongest supporters and enablers saying "whaaat the fuck" the other day.

Several of those Trump loyalists had to distance themselves from his self-glorifying claim by stating publicly that there is no basis to doubt that nearly 3,000 people died in Maria's aftermath.

FEMA's own analysis acknowledges that they were not properly organized and prepared for Maria.

Instead of realizing that his ego-driven self-absorbed bullshit was disrespecting the Puerto Ricans who died, disrespecting Puerto Ricans who survived and are still struggling to survive, and minimizing the impacts of hurricanes whilst millions of people on the mainland were being warned to evacuate Hurricane Florence's path.........Trump, of course, double-downed and tweeted that the report of thousands of hurricane-related fatalities was fiction being floated by Dems to make HIM look bad.   78

I saw that. It's for reasons like that so many people think he is unhinged, incompetent, unqualified and incapable of doing his job.

Lying cocksucka also said he helped to clean debris and find survivors in the aftermath of the planes hitting the twin towers.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-14-2018

Puerto Rico's problems were well established before any hurricane hit the beach, the politicians there are almost as corrupt as Cuba's and the people there are just pawns for the officials that are constantly fleecing them. If there is any blame it needs to be laid on the shoulders of the administration there. FEMA can only do so much and their infra structure was not ready for any type of emergency. As far as any death toll I can see the numbers being skewered by the same crooked politicians in order to try and get more money.

Although Trump should have kept his mouth shut and tied them up with litigation taking a page from the Obama playbook.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-14-2018

Nobody denies that Puerto Rico had existing infrastructure problems and corruption Maggot. Most of the U.S. does.

And nobody is denying that the local Puerto Rican government made mistakes too. They're owning it.

That has nothing to do with the federal government's responsibility to assist its citizens and minimize fatalities in natural disasters.

Denying the lack of preparedness and high death counts is irresponsible bullshit which does not promote continuous improvement in handling future natural disasters.

And, I still disagree with your statement in the natural disaster thread about how the devastating hurricanes were the best things that could happen to Puerto Rico.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 09-14-2018

Wooooo. It's being reported that Paul Manafort will plead guilty this morning in court. He's trying to avoid another trial and the full disclosure that comes with it. I think he's hoping for a pardon as well given his attorneys have been working with trump's attorneys.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-14-2018

Because of the hurricanes they are getting more money and help to renew their infra structure than they were getting before the storms. Can you deny that? If not for the storms it would have kept going on moving on, at least now they are better prepared than they were before and the issues that needed to be acknowledged are being addressed properly. That would have never happened if the hurricanes never hit.

If Trump pardons Manafort, it will send such a terrible message to white collar criminals who steal millions from U.S. tax payers for their own gain (and sometimes the gain of adversarial governments).

Manafort does not deserve to be pardoned for felony convictions and crimes to which he pleads guilty in the face of mounds of evidence.   That's not fair and equal justice.

Pardoning Manafort would look as though Trump was rewarding him for not cooperating with law enforcement and would send a message that the law doesn't apply equally to those associated/favored by the President.

I don't doubt that Trump would pardon Manafort despite all that, but hope the potential political ramifications will prevent him from doing so.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Fry Guy - 09-14-2018

Puerto Rico did not look after its people by making sure it was safe and its infrastructure was good.
Hurricane ripped through it. President Trump did an outstanding fucking job in sending in supplies and against Liberal partisanship outrage that he was not doing enough.
The stupid and corrupt government THERE both spurned his help and WITHHELD supplies from its own people.
Now it is somehow both all his fault that there were problems AND that he is now a terrible President.

You could put a fucking cape on the cape and have him rescue every person and rebuild their homes before they were wrecked and give every affected resident compensation and they would still proclaim him evil incarnate.

That is NOTHING to do with him and his efforts then now or whenever and precisely EVERYTHING to do with extremist bias. Nothing rational, sensible or relevant. But each to their own and whatever. If people want to feel better raging at Trump no matter what he does or does not do and nothing he does ever allows them to register that he has done okay then that is fine and they can do that but it is an opinion without merit and not worth considering seriously.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-14-2018

As most Americans have seen through the media and through various articles involving Trump the blatant hypocrisy is now shining through as compared to the day after he was elected. It is now part of the dialog between the liberal camps as they try to "Out Trump" each other on a daily basis. People see this today and toss it off as quite a bit of untrue statements by the leftist propaganda press as they attack the President. I myself have begun to chuckle at the chumps as they roll out their adjectives to describe everything he does from waving at a crowd to eating ice cream.

All this as Trump quietly improves the economy, adjusts the foreign policy, and level the playing field for all Americans, even the ones that are the biggest cheerleaders for his imagined PC "racist" attitude.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 09-14-2018

"level the playing field for all Americans"   hah

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Rootilda - 09-14-2018

Jesus, you have some of the worst Trump apologists here I've ever seen. He could shit in their mouths and they'd whine for more delicious chocolate.

Yes and you epitomize the dark heart of all the liberal organizations that cannot accept the truth.

It would be a yawn fest if we all agreed, all the time. Discord promotes posting & their trump love gives us something to mock. Awink

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Carsman - 09-14-2018

The Trump haters are going to hate him no matter whatever he does, it won‘t be right for them.
He’s damned if he does, and damned doesn’t! He will never (cannot) please his haters!
(I really don't like him, but I don't hate him either! I try to see the good that he may be able to do for the country)

I really thought after the Trumpster became POTUS, that he would change his theatrical outrageous antics he displayed
while he was campaigning, and would begin to act more sophisticated and maybe even a little polished, as a POTUS
should behave.
Sadly, that did not happen. (Man was I wrong!)

However, for those that are willing to overlook the Trumpster’s shortcomings as a polished diplomatic politician, (or even
for that matter, not a considerate compassionate person) he does have some saving graces that can be considered for
the overall good of the USA. Yes he has made some bad choices, but he also has made some good ones.

He froze govt hiring
He cut Taxes for big business, to lure those outside our country back to USA
He made changes to NAFTA
He pulled out of the TPP
He banned International Abortion counseling
He gave the Dakota Access pipeline the go ahead
He revamped Obamacare
He made the USA a force to recon with again

To name a few, of course, the haters (those that can't see past the hate) will take issue with them

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Rootilda - 09-14-2018

Haters, fake news, truth is the new hate speech. You all parrot the most ridiculous talking points.

And why would you consider banning International Abortion counseling a plus? And cutting taxes for big business? Actually everything on your list. Yippee, we're going to start using asbestos and releasing more methane into our atmosphere again. The Russians tell us that asbestos is actually healthy and those oil companies needed the cash boost.

Blah.
