I was talking about that with someone today. Everyone close to centre is far right to a Progressive because they are so insanely Left. The Far Right is really no better but the Far Left is insane. When you are in Tim Poole, Joe Rogan, Bill Burr kind of territory politically you are really not that far from say a Rand Paul and it is so very easy for people to call you Conservative because mainstream Left is not where it was 10 years ago and most people have moved with it.

case in point, for months the socialists running for president have been spewing their bile. creepy uncle joe gets in and BAM he has a 30 point lead on all of them. Why?
imho, the vast, vast majority of democrats hate the bile as well, and creepy uncle joe is not toeing the socialist line. the minority in the party are going to try to destroy him; he was the most liberal senator in the senate and he isn't progressive enough. this circus is going to be fun to watch.
