It's being reported that trump has requested the immediate preparation of paperwork needed to pardon several service members convicted of war crimes. War crimes! He wants to pardon murderers. Jesus Christ. One of those is a man who sat in his sniper's nest and picked off a young girl walking along a riverbank, he killed an old man who was walking down the road and stabbed to death a boy. These crimes were reported by his own men!

I hope it doesn't happen. It would be more appropriate and fair to allow the evidence to be presented to a military court/judge to determine a verdict and sentence.
There are teachers, coaches and priests who choose their careers because they want to be in environments filled with vulnerable underage people who can be sexually violated. There are police officers who choose their careers because they want to control other people and exert violence without limitations. And, there are military members who choose their careers because they want to kill people or remain in service because they grow to like killing people (even those who don't represent a threat).
None of them should be given a pass on the crimes they commit even if they happen to also be good at their jobs and good at displaying a positive public image, in my opinion.

Actually he has been very vocal in praising the armed forces. There is a lot to suggest he cares greatly for armed service man and women. There is little to suggest otherwise.
