Trump has so far explained that he had no docs, instructed his staff to lie and hide them, stated he had them but the FBI planted them, he had them but he declassified them with his mind, and that he only had the folders because the briefing team just willy-nilly left them laying about for him to steal because empty folders are super fucking cool souvenirs.
There are any number of longtime government officials who are happy to explain the sheer implausibility of any of these excuses. They basically break down every instance where these alibis are pure bullshit only useful to convince the utter morons left in his base support. If you honestly believe any of these stories does anything but give his prosecutors a very tingly stirring sensation in their nether regions, you are probably one of the aforementioned morons.
