I'm with you.  The tipping point for me was the administration's defense of school boards withholding the curriculum from parents and the DOJ labeling and investigating the parents who question the school boards as "domestic terrorists".  Plus, the overt persecution and baseless blaming of "Christians", as the "killers" of democracy, liberty, freedom, justice and are now the new Hitlerian Reich.  It's hate based intolerance, from the left.

Forget about my adherence to Uncle "Milty" Friedman's philosophy versus the left's Keynesian idiots.  We've already passed that tipping point.

I'm still waiting for someone . . . anyone . . . to show me what Trump said to "incite violence" to cause the Capitol Riot and attempt to overthrow our Government.  The words . . . plain and simple . . . commanding (OK . . . I'll go with an unambiguous "strongly suggesting") people to attack and overthrow our Government.

I don't want someone's interpretation.  If it was truly a "call to arms" it should be loud and clear.  Show me the words.  I do not need your interpretation.  Show me the exact words.

We're constantly being reminded that Trump is boisterous, hateful, bold, brash, and unfiltered . . . and his followers are uneducated and dilutional.  Subtle words do not work on these folks. They need specificity and direction.   Subtlety and innuendo is only for the elitist, intelligencia class . . . not the illiterate MAGA crowd.

So . . . I'm now supposed to believe that the guy who holds nothing back when he speaks to his idiot supporters  . . . supporters who need everything spelled out for them . . .  relied on what . . . telepathy . . .  to launch a "revolution"?

No wonder "progressives" believe guys with dicks, are women of the year.  They also think Bud Light is a manly beer . . . and a Mule is a Clydesdale.

Like any demagogue, Trump appeals to emotion and predjudice, which doesn't require specificity because emotions are not intelligence-based. You arouse them and people react according to their conditioning.

Is demagoguery exclusive to a particular political ideology? No, it's applied by all who seek to gain or maintain power.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - MirahM - 04-06-2023

Can we change the title of this thread to "The Tramp Presidency"?

No. Charlie Chaplin was never President and he's dead.

Let's rename it The Trample Presidency. As in Trump wants to Trample our Democracy.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - rothschild - 04-06-2023

Trump derangement minus Trump equals life with no purpose.

Perverts  hah.
I think of this song every time I think about the perverts and it cracks me up. Except it's a courtroom and not a bus.

I love that idea!

Include the "hush-money" gals and we could call it "The Ladies and the Tramp Presidency".

Mirah . . . you're on to something and I like it!

You've got my vote, girl.

Thanks for reminding me that the Senate bipartisan investigation concluded that trump's links to Russia posed a national security threat. There's so much fuckery to remember.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - rothschild - 04-07-2023

What could be more trustworthy than two corrupt parties cooperating for the purpose of achieving a common objective.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 04-07-2023

I don't view it that way given the republican party is still the party of trump, and make no mistake, it is.

Only as far as the rank and file are concerned. The party leadership hated Trump when he first threw his hat in the ring, and still do. The "Tea Party" ruse was never intended to morph into a legitimate grassroots movement. When it did, the leadership became a defacto hostage, forced to shuck and jive to maintain a semblance of control. Trump is an offshoot of that phenomenon, and the leadership has dealt with him as such.

Trump's a wild card at bottom, and for that reason alone he is vehemently disliked by party powerbrokers.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 04-07-2023

Oh I believe he is vehemently disliked within that party, yet they continue to toe the line. Look at Lindsay Graham for example. He famously said "if we nominate trump we will get destroyed, and we will deserve it". He really couldn't be any further up trump's ass than he is right now. He has recently been on FOX begging for money for trump. There are some who believe he is being blackmailed. It's believable because trump isn't above doing that.

Hogwash. The voters are sick and tired of people like Graham and McConnell, and their careers cannot be maintained by money alone, which forces them to go along for the ride.

Trump has exploited these dynamics because he is an international brand. Or was.
