How are you connecting deterring new unauthorized border crossings to paying for the 15 - 21 billion dollar wall Trump promised (and promised Mexico was going to pay for), Maggot?

I'm not following you.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 03-09-2017

I meant weather they are willing to break the law.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 03-09-2017

I just feel that with the decrease in immigration that more would try and go the legal route and avoid the smugglers fees to get a visa and do it right. I hear tons of people bitching about the immigration perimeters that Trump has enacted and never hear anyone talking about making it a bit easier to get on the path towards citizenship. Sure there's a ton of them trying to get in but go legal............Hey that would make a freaking GREAT slogan.

GO LEGAL

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-09-2017

There's been tons of talk about immigration reform with a path to citizenship for years on end. It's been discussed here at Mock, in DC, across the country, and in the presidential debates.

You've commented on the dedicated discussion of that very topic many times, Maggot.

Anyway.......hopefully, comprehensive immigration reform will finally be acted upon by Congress soon. It's much smarter, more important, and more beneficial to the U.S. than building The Wall and deporting non-criminal undocumented immigrants, in my opinion.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 03-09-2017

Trump knows you have to punch them down before you can punch them back up. It's refreshing actually.

Have you read the commentary by Emily Bazaloony in the N.Y. Times? Sessions and Bannon is thoroughly dissected as racist idiots trying to "remake America" through Christian white European values. Is Rod Rosenstien a good pick for deputy attorney general. Should Trump fire Comey? ...............Could Sessions? considering that the justice dept runs the F.B.I. ?

I kinda hate all the drama and baloney but it is something that should be investigated by an impartial committee.

I'm just glad fishing season is close and I can relax.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-09-2017

Yeah, we have very different ideas of 'refreshing', Maggot.

And, I don't claim to have the power to read into Trump's mind what I hope he's thinking, like you do. As a mere mortal, I have to go by people's words and actions.

Anyway, I'm glad you'll be able to get some relaxation.

I'm off to Rolling Hills with my friend on Saturday morning and back on Monday; looking forward to the short road trip and change of scenery.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 03-09-2017

We can't legalize the ILLEGAL ALIENS without a secure border, even if that includes a physical border wall. We should have the national guard there until it is built. They are just sitting around doing "exercises" right now, why not have them learning while actually helping the nation? The conservation corp should be helping as well, what the fuck?

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-10-2017

Are you talking about that extremely wide air border between Earth and Mars or the border between the U.S. and Mexico, Biggie?

In either case, maybe you should write President Trump a letter or send him a tweet with your recommendation that he should nix his plans to hire 10,000 more ICE agents, switch the border control with our ally from a law enforcement function to a military operation, and send our national guard to stand around at the border instead of being trained and ready to deploy immediately when a national crisis develops. It's so illogical that you might get a big thumbs-up.

And, we can absolutely begin immigration reform and offer a path to legalization/citizenship for those who can prove they've resided in the U.S. productively for 5 years or more......... even before/if The Wall is actually built.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-10-2017

I know the conspiracy theorists love them, but I think Julian Assage and Wikileaks are a scorge.

I hope they're put out of business soon.

The U.S. really needs to invest heavily in cyber security, especially within government and military/intelligence agencies, but also in terms of consumer protection. In my opinion.

About the only time I've liked Marco was when he said, don't laugh now, we could be next, or words to that affect.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-10-2017

Rubio was at the worst I'd seen him during the 2016 campaign. He wasn't ready.

I disagree with many of his social stances and hawkishness, but like him on some issues and don't have a problem with him in general. I agreed with his non-partisan condemnation of election hacks too.

He really worked hard with a group of Republicans and Democrats to come up with a palatable immigration reform package which was more fair and humane than a lot of Republicans at the time were proposing. Of course, Congress refused to seriously consider it for political reasons.

That's the kind of thing that makes me crazy. They all should be willing to reach across the aisle in order to work together for the betterment of us, we the people and I don't see that going on.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 03-10-2017

Pay for one foot of the wall and you can stay.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-11-2017

This is good news for President Trump and the country.

The jobs report for February was very good and exceeded projections; jobs growth was higher than expected and unemployment ticked down -- in line with strong 2013 and 2014 performance.

Trump isn't behind the keeping/creation of jobs in this country which were already planned in advance of his election, but they count as new jobs and there were plenty beyond those. I think Trump and company deserve credit for keeping the positive trend going and adding new fire to the market.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-11-2017

All during his campaign Trump insisted that the positive jobs and employment reports during Obama's last few years of his presidency were phony, fake news, meaningless, etc... That was a lie, of course, and Sean Spicer got hit up about it at today's press conference.

Spicer seemed to anticipate the question and said the President wanted him to tell the press that while those reports may have been false in the past, they're very real now. At least Spicer didn't try to seriously sell that one.

I saw that go down and it was funny but I had mixed feelings about all the journalists laughing. I don't want that crap normalized. It's not normal and I don't think people should be blowing it off. trump is a pathological liar and his lies should always be questioned and fact checked.

It was pretty funny too that Sean's flag pin was upside down given it's a sign of distress. 113

Once someone lies that's it. It's over you cannot trust them. I actually feel bad for his wife. She must realize he is a monster and she is trapped. Who cares about money or status when you are not free.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - username - 03-12-2017

Tillerson is planning a trip next week (I believe) to Asia and not including any U.S. press. So, any reporting about the trip will have to come from those he meets with and/or his own team. The BBC, AP and other groups are, understandably up in arms over this.

Every day I open my paper and there's at least 3-4 Trump or his administration act's stories that either appear dishonest, questionable, stupid, or chaotic.

Crazy fucierl

Spicer said it was an "element of cost saving", obviously not understanding that the media pay for their own seats and then he said there wasn't enough room. If one excuse doesn't fly, they then pull another one out of their ass. Meanwhile, Tillerson flat out refuses questions from the press.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - aussiefriend - 03-12-2017

I think you guys are going to have to get used to this new normal which is glaringly abnormal. They say Spicer has a tough job. He seems to cough and splutter.

Look, if I had his job I would be speechless I would be like throwing my hands up in the air "I got nuthing". It looks like he is underpaid too.
