RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 03-15-2017 I didn't like Obama getting re elected either but you guys are far worse than any republican was about it. Clinton lost. Get over it. Or just keep on chomping at the bit. It doesn't really matter. Please carry on. It's fun to watch. Clinton lost. Get over it. I don't have anything to get over. He's the Prez. The end. I do very much like mocking every move he and his administration make though. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 03-15-2017 That's OK as long as you don't lose any sleep over it. I'm sure you don't. To tell you the truth Trump does some fairly whacky things, twittering all over the place and I bet it drives the media nuts not getting the scoop on things because of it. But I will be the first to say he's a strange duck. But he's our duck. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 03-15-2017 I get Medicare & Medicaid mixed up. I may have made a mistake back there. Trump fired 46 US attorney's!!!!111 Omaigowds what a tyrant. Meanwhile back in 93 Billy Boy Clinton fired 93 US attorney's and the media was silent as a church mouse. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 03-15-2017 All incoming Presidents do that. Nothing I'm posting about has anything to do with Hillary Clinton. I'd have been happy with Kasich, Bernie, and maybe even JEB! We've got Trump, I accept that and hope for the best. That doesn't mean objectively viewing the issues / strategies and commenting upon them honestly is "not getting over it" or a witch hunt or something. It's silly to imply that it does or that anyone is gonna dumb down and shut up to avoid having that bullshit thrown at them by Trump devotees. When I start criticizing how Trump rides a bike, spazzing over how he uses an umbrella in the rain, holding him accountable for policies that happened long before he took office, accusing him of being a non-American Muslim, etc -- like you did with Obama -- then your comment might have some merit. Don't hold your breath for that, hombre. He killed Hillary in Michigan and Wisconsin and the theory is that he would have taken Pennsylvania as well with his 80+% of the youth vote. Without those three Trump wouldn't have had the electorate votes. It's Gypsy fortune telling and all but it was a good read.(03-15-2017, 01:48 PM)Maggot Wrote: I didn't like Obama getting re elected either but you guys are far worse than any republican was about it. My state is seeing 116% increase. Turns out that when people who haven't seen a Dr since the last time they got shot find out they have some serious health issues, the rates go up for everyone.(03-14-2017, 10:08 PM)aussiefriend Wrote: Maggot just just stop. The healthcare bill is not fair even Republicans are saying that. Don't you lie too or worse lie to yourself. How can this guy sit well with you? He is all about himself. OK, $1,700 increased by 116% is still only $1,972 additional, not a possible $14,000! RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - SIXFOOTERsez - 03-15-2017 The shit did not go up 16% in a year before ACA RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - sally - 03-15-2017 A guy selling brains could really clean up in this place. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 03-15-2017 Choo choo! RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-15-2017 (03-15-2017, 06:46 PM)Carsman Wrote: OK, $1,700 increased by 116% is still only $1,972 additional, not a possible $14,000! No, you were right, Cars -- with caveats. One of the big complaints about the American Health Care Act (AHCA / 'Trumpcare') is that while it would benefit the young and the wealthy in terms of care access and affordability as compared to the Affordable Care Act (ACA/ 'Obamacare'), it is projected to increase the premiums for some senior and low income citizens by 750% or nearly $14,000. That's according the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report and other financial analyses. There are several analyses and write-ups that come to that same conclusion and outline the reasons. VOX did a good job of breaking it down. Snip: Under Obamacare, insurers are generally only allowed to charge an older person about three times what they would charge a younger person — under the theory that older people are often sicker and therefore need to use more insurance. But under the Republican bill, the limit of three times would go up to five times, effectively letting insurers charge older people 66 percent more than they would under Obamacare. Republicans argue this is necessary because it would also let insurers charge younger people less, which would encourage younger and generally healthier people to come into the insurance pool — and therefore bring down the overall cost of health care by making it so more younger, healthier people are effectively subsidizing everyone’s care. The CBO found that’s broadly true. It would bring insurance premiums down in general, and it would cost young people less to get signed up for a health plan. But it would do all of that at a high cost for older Americans. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 03-16-2017 This is a good shorter report on the impacts of the AHCA/Trumpcare proposal as compared to Obamacare. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/03/14/this-may-be-the-most-brutal-number-in-the-cbo-report/ Americans 64 and older making $26,500 per year would see their premiums increase by an estimated 750 percent by 2026. While they are on track to pay $1,700 under the current Obamacare law, the CBO projects the American Health Care Act would force them to pay $14,600, or a whopping 60.6% of their incomes. It's fucking shameful. Middle-aged lower-income individuals would see their premium increased from 6.4% to 9.1% of their incomes under the proposed AHCA, while 21-year-olds would see a reduction. On the other hand, those making over $68,500 a year, in all age brackets, would see a reduction in premiums under the proposed AHCA. So, the AHCA is a proposal that benefits insurance companies, young people, and wealthier Americans while it screws over the middle-aged and elderly lower income individuals. President Trump won the votes of a majority of those demographics and promised them something better for them than Obamacare. AHCA, as it stands, accomplishes the exact opposite. President Trump and elected Republican officials would be fools if they continue trying to ram this shiite through Congress and label the consistent analyses "fake" or "inaccurate", in my opinion. Even the most ardent Trump supporters would desert him in droves if they work hard or struggle to make ends meet in retirement and wind up unable to afford healthcare because of him. For those who want to see the Republicans lose seats in the 2018 mid-terms and Trump's 2020 re-election chances greatly diminished, I think seeing them push the AHCA in its current form would be their best chance. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 03-16-2017 I think everyone who supports him should have to have that insurance and when he brings back the draft their kids and grandkids should be the first to go to war for him.
