If this were a show on television, I might like it a lot. I would find the character appealing because of how outrageous it is, it would make me laugh but this shit is for real.

Agreed. I have no issue whatsoever with Arpio's pardon.

Trump just said he pardoned Arpaio as Harvey hit Texas because "I assumed the ratings would be far higher than they would be normally."
I heard about that a couple of days ago. Honestly, somebody needs to stuff a sock in his mouth and disable his twitter account. Or maybe it's the tactic they're going with? Regardless, he's said more stupid shit than any other president in history. Keep your fucking mouth shut and stay the fuck off twitter and let you be judged by your performance alone.

^^^ Got to go with this

He's in your head.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Carsman - 09-02-2017

Did it impress anyone today to see the Donald on TV handing out food to the Harvey Texans? Me, not so much.
(Well, maybe a little)

Why would it? It was a photo op, nothing more. That idiot stood in a doorway waving like Miss America and told people who had lost every goddamn thing they'd ever worked for to have a good time.

WTH is this smoke and mirrors bullchit of DACA??? Shouldn't this chit be put on hold until after these hurricanes and damages are dealt with?

Aww c'mon, ruining lives is so much more important than hurricanes and the damage they cause.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-06-2017

He is giving congress 6 months to come up with a workable legal law. Not that congress can do anything in 6 months.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Donovan - 09-06-2017

And he knows it. This is strictly a revenge move.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-06-2017

I'm fairly confident a new process that is created on solid footing will be accomplished. It's about time to address the issue seriously. Or the government will replay the American Indian treaties. These kids gave up their personal information so Trump did the right thing by getting it going forward into new territory on a solid legally binding footing. I'm hoping a new system to get these people citizenship that's a bit easier than it is now can be created for the dreamers and for anyone entering the US looking for a new life.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 09-06-2017

I don't get why I keep hearing that Dreamers/DACA is a controversial issue. Why is that? Seems pretty simple to me. Do what needs to be done. Now.

From what I understand, and I could be wrong, The reason being is because under DREAMERS/DECA, it is up to individual states, not the Federal government, to provide for children. Individual states can barely afford to provide for children born legally in that state, let alone children brought in by illegal citizens. From what I heard, states were suing Obama's government, because there was no federal funding to provide for said children. Obama didn't care, 'cause he knew he was out in 4 years. Now everybody is up in arms, 'cause Trump doesn't want to keep the executive order that was unconstitutional to begin with? Hell, he gave congress 6 months to make it right. Ball is in their court.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-08-2017

Most Americans, regardless of political affiliation or location, supports Dreamers...according to interviews, polls, and politician commentary I've seen over the last 5 years.

But, Trump's nationalist core base and some of the more extreme conservatives in Congress and inside the administration -- particularly Jeff Sessions -- don't want a program which fails to take action against undocumented immigrant children and instead allows/encourages them to become educated, work, contribute to society and pay taxes if they commit no crimes.

Trump can say he made good on his campaign promise by kicking what some see as Obama's unconstitutional Executive Order to Congress for vote. However, he knows full well the Republican Congress has been in severe internal conflict over immigration reform for years and years. That's one reason an Executive Order was needed in the first place. Also, I think President Trump kinda liked putting Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader McConnell in such a tricky hot seat; it's difficult to imagine they'll be able to get anywhere near a Republican consensus. Boehner's probably stoked that his butt isn't burning in that seat anymore.

At present, there is a lot of bipartisan Congressional agreement when it comes to immigration policy. But, bipartisan efforts have failed to get anywhere because several of the far right Congressional representatives won't negotiate/compromise, just like they (fortunately) wouldn't budge on the shitty Republican health care proposal earlier this year.

Anyway, that said...........I hope Congress really can finally work together on immigration reform, including DACA, and come up with a fair and binding solution in 6 months. It's long overdue.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 09-08-2017

Once these hypocrites are state and federal employees it will be Mexico style corruption here.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 09-08-2017

I saw it reported that the Koch brothers intend to push Congress to protect Dreamers. Woooo. I feel slightly gobsmacked. Never expected to see anything like that from them.

RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-08-2017

What happens to the guardians of these dreamers?

I knows you can read and search on da internets Mags.

But, to answer your question...........it's the same as it ever was - what happens to undocumented and illegal adult immigrants depends on their behavior and the tolerance/rationality of the people where they reside.

DAPA was never enforceable -- deferred action against parents of undocumented Americans never took effect and General Kelly wiped it off the books back in June.

Here's some information not readily available to the masses however; it's a Mock exclusive! I'm considering a proposal to round up the guardians of all them stinkin' Dreamers and send them to New Hampshire. Those fuckers will pick your crops, clean your homes, tend to your kids, scape your lands, spice up your meals, and rehab your epidemic number of opiode addicts like nobody's business. That'll teach 'em alright!!! hah
