RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-24-2017 To tell you the truth I could not care less about them kneeling or why as long as they play football. They could all scratch their balls at the same time and get the same effect. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-25-2017 (09-23-2017, 12:13 PM)Maggot Wrote: I do not think most of the Democrats actually read the "war and peace" that was presented as Obama care. I was just highlighting how they walked in lockstep together to pass a crappy law that they knew was shaky. Every one of them voted for it and even if they knew it was not a very good piece of legislature voted yes anyway on it, none of them had a clue and did it because it was the easy thing to do. Free will is not a common commodity in the gang situation that was the early stages of the Obama regime. Mags, what you 'think' happens to be false. Those of us who followed the original fight to get an Affordable Health Care Act passed know that; it's a matter of public record/fact, not opinion. People who didn't follow the progress of that legislation, like yourself obviously, can take about 15 seconds on Google to verify that what you're posting is not true. Nearly 40 Democratic congresspersons opposed Obama's Affordable Care Act bill. They read and debated the various iterations of the bill, were not in favor of it, and most could not be swayed. The Decomcrats did not walk lockstep together; 39 voted against the legislation. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Duchess - 09-25-2017 ...and I'd just like to add that Democrats held more than a year of hearings (79 to be exact), town halls, forums, etc. addressing questions about the ACA. The Republicans objected to the "speed" with which it was moving along as well as "secret back room deals". They then went on to vote over 60 times to get rid of it starting on the day it was passed into law. Fast forward to 2017. Mitch McConnell created a 13 man group who went on to craft a Bill behind closed doors and the House version of AHCA was forced through the House without a single hearing. During that time those bastards tried to ban cameras from the halls of the Senate so they wouldn't be asked questions on camera. They control every goddamn thing and they still can't get shit done and they have the friggin' audacity to blame Democrats. Whatta bunch of assholes. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-25-2017 (09-25-2017, 11:22 AM)Maggot Wrote: You are right the legislation did not receive any votes from the Republican side. Another false statement, Mags. But, even if it were true, it has nothing to do with the many false statements in your last few posts. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Jimbone - 09-25-2017 What republican voted for it? RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-25-2017 All Republican elected leaders who were present and accounted-for voted on the initial and final Obamacare bills. Just because the Republicans' lockstep, partisan, unanimous 'no' votes were outnumbered by non-unanimous Democratic 'yes' votes............. doesn't mean there were no Republican votes, obviously. And, it certainly doesn't mean that the Republicans were 'done wrong' or anything like that. They lost, that's all. The Republican opposition and protest wasn't powerful enough to kill the legislation -- despite 39 Democrats joining Republicans in voting 'no'. Anyway, it was a victory for Obama's Democratic administration. So far, Trump hasn't been able to realize the same type of victory in his promise to get Obamacare repealed and replaced, despite having Republican majority in both houses of congress. There are strongly opposing factions within the Republican party itself who can't agree on a plan -- at least not yet. It's clearly not a matter of the Democrats being less bi-partisan then than the Republicans are now. It's a matter of the Republican party being more splintered now than the Democratic party was then. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Maggot - 09-25-2017 I believe the Dems were to blame for the legislation with no republican support good or bad they own it. It was voted through because there was no other way it would have passed waiting for it to be researched that is. I have to say they moved fast and furious. But the Dems own it. As it comes to maturity they will have to deal with the voters as the Republicans try and fix it. What else can they do? Nothing? Like I said before an egg was laid and nothing was done except let it rot. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Jimbone - 09-25-2017 I see. The difference between 'voted on' and 'voted for'. She got you Maggot, the republicans voted on Obamacare, even though not one of them voted for it. The republicans never had the numbers to stop it - once Stupak's pro-life group was bought off, they had peeled enough democrats into the 'yea' column to assure passage. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-25-2017 Yeah, there's no 'got you' involved, Jimbone. Democrats and Republicans voted. That's a fact. Republicans voted unanimously against it. That too is a fact. 39 Democrats also voted against it, but the required 'yes' votes were still secured and the bill passed. More facts and truths. But, it's not a problem if you wanna support or try to defend Maggot and/or his untrue/revisionist history claiming that no Democrats read the bill, no Democrats voted against the bill, and there were no Republican votes.... Carry on. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - BigMark - 09-25-2017 Quite disingenuous, bravo. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-26-2017 If you were talking to me...I'm being quite genuine Biggie. You can hold your applause.....for now. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-26-2017 Actually, on re-reading Jimbone's post and my response, I was genuinely bitchy and off-base. I'm sorry about that Jimbone. You weren't supporting revisionist history or anything and what you posted is true. Anyway, I don't know if the Republicans will be able to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act during Trump's presidency, but doubt they will. I think they're gonna need to work with Democrats and hopefully come up with something that guarantees the good parts of the current healthcare policy and addresses the major flaws. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - Jimbone - 09-26-2017 Yeah, I had legit read Maggot's post differently than it was written, and didn't see you were making a different point. I thought my old brain had actually forgotten some lone republican somewhere who actually voted for it. All good. RE: THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY - HairOfTheDog - 09-28-2017 President Trump best shoot his famous "you're fired!" line at Tom Price's sorry ass. Price was a poor and insulting choice for Health and Human Services Secretary from the get-go, in my opinion. Regardless, Trump appointed Price to the post.....and all the while Trump kept repeating his stump to chumps about how he was gonna drain the swamp. Well.............we know there was no draining and, in fact, there's by far more cost to taxpayers for Trump's administration than any other. But, Price's audacity in chartering private planes for routine domestic business and meetings with his son is beyond the pale. In only 10 months, Price has racked up $400,000+ on the tax-payers' dime so that he can tool around in private jets. And, that doesn't include the $500,000 cost for he and his family to travel on military planes internationally. For what it's worth, Trump says he didn't know what Price was doing and that he's really very upset about it now that he does. Price says he won't do it no mo, he's always fought for taxpayers, and he'll repay us for his seat! The seedy bastard thinks we're idiots. Price chartered private flights using our money, but he wants to pay for the cost of only one seat. Price wants to pay us back $50,000 for the $400,000+ he spent on our dime without our consent. Pfft. Fuck off, Price. Hair, you articulate my thoughts exactly and Duchess also says what I say to myself. When she was mocking Fuckface about PR being an island, I had heard his speech about an island being difficult to get to...duh....what comes out of his mouth never ceases to be dumb and mockable. Being a super sarcastic person, I guess helps me with mocking as it comes so naturally.....I just adore Hair and Duchess as they mimic my feelings about life.....carry on Ladies... I would like to just wring Maggot's neck so that he would come out of his coma and realize that FF is just out for himself and that he is a genuine crazy ignoramus. I would like to remind Love Child that she still is young and to put adventure into your life is always the best way to go....just take a deep breath and enjoy your new journey and if you don't like the job, walk away until you find something you do....it is a waste of a person's life to do a job you detest throughout life. Clang, you are very dear and I enjoy your humor, but wish you would find your niche, too....i think u need the security and stability of your DVM job, but you will always be looking for an excuse to quit or be fired.....u sound like u are having fun, though....heck you have a great social life..... I miss Blue Tiki, too.....I still worry about her relationship with her niece and you know, this entire mess was created by FF himself......that is sad as he just isn't worth it..... Aussie, where are you, girl....I worry about you, too.....it seems you had a lot on your plate and you probably need a big ole hug.....speaking of which.....I had doctor's appointment yesterday and doctor thought I needed a hug so he gave me big one.....hope you are done with the legal stuff.... MWS, I know you are enjoying the cooler weather, the Friday boobs thread, and the Sunday football.....speaking of which.....I don't see what all the big fuss is about..... No one is disrespecting the flag, military, country, etc.....it is a peaceful protest about the inequality in our country....you know where the Constitution says something about all men are created equal......many souls died during Civil Rights Movement, too and hope we don't have to do another Civil Rights Movement for equal rights. Seems more and more we are going back to 50's.....I think it has become more visible now with FF in office as he divides and spreads the hate. Trump disrespects someone everytime he opens his mouth so for him to accuse NFL of disrespect is laughable....Trump gave this his full attention all week while people in Puerto Rico were suffering, starving, etc...... FU, I even miss you and your dang guns cuz I know you are a responsible gun owner and you never know when you might need it to shoot some dangerous critter in Iowa. Sally, keep being mean and funny.....you have made me laugh many times...... Mark, even you are growing on me...i think your sentences are getting longer...giving more thought to your replies is a step forward.. Zero, I suppose you are out there doing elaborate graphics.....wish I could do all that stuff.....and say hi to brother, Ski for me..... I just thought of Mo....has anybody heard from him? Hope he is doing o.k..... User, I worry about you, too....i do hope the dynamics in your family can change so everyone will be happier, but maybe just not together...it is a lot to handle for you in any case. OTD, are u still hanging out at your son's bar....wish I could join you....i haven't met many people since moving here and I have become more reclusive......I think I could easily become a hermit who hides in the woods....i would get too cold or too hot to live in a tent, though...dang, wish my son owned a bar...... Six, I hope you and Mouse will be very happy in your new life in Texas.....you know the drill, just say, "yes, dear" all the time and u will be good to go... I didn't mean to mention every dang person on here, but since I no longer participate or interact, just wanted to say hi and wish you well....love you guys.. On CNN today, they said Price's cost of travel was more like 1 million...you may have already said that Hair......and he isn't the only ones living the life of the rich and famous on our dime..and don't get me started on the Tax Reform or better known as "Trump's new con to pay less taxes".....Cohn says itemized deductions would no longer be authorized so there goes mortgage interest, medical, and for me State taxes...I owe a lot of that so in effect, my taxes would actually go up even with the standard deduction doubled (per Cohn). This is modeled after big tax reform failure of Gov Brownback in Kansas...another dumbass buddy of Trump and is going to WH to be in charge of Religious something or other...it is a made up office to accommodate another crook.... |
