The reason behind why they do it, Mr. Bone.

Clever.

What is the reason behind them doing it? Why are they taking a knee?

Are you for real? Seriously? You talk about it and don't support it without even knowing the why of it? That's pretty fucked up. It's about social injustice, it's about police brutality, but you're the man, right, so you wouldn't want to see that anyway.

RE: NFL 2017 - Donovan - 10-10-2017

Maybe people would understand a little better if they lay face down during the anthem. With chalk outlines.

RE: NFL 2017 - Maggot - 10-10-2017

Dammit.........the thread is getting screwed up now,,,,,,,,,,,thanks Sally. Twat

RE: NFL 2017 - Jimbone - 10-10-2017

I said the business has a right to tell its employees how to conduct themselves. I don't believe I've expressed an opinion whether I am for or against.

Also, freedom of speech protects you from the government. Private business can limit speech or expression all it wants. That's just the way it is. The players are at the mercy of the league and team owners.

And I know why Kapernick kneeled, but am a little unclear on the hundreds others who didn't start kneeling until after Trump said something. Seems more of an anti-trump kneel for a lot of them.

That was a show of unity, of support. It was said over & over again, before the games, during the games, after the games.

Unity for Kapernick? Unity for the couple of others who were kneeling?

Where was the unity all last season? Where was it this season before Trump spoke about it and made it a big deal? Why wasn't everyone kneeling en masse prior to that? If they were so unified behind the cause, where was the huge movement?

There wasn't one. It appeared to be a middle finger to the president for him calling them out on his perceived disrespect for the flag. That's all well and good, but the consumers of the NFL seem to be viewing it differently - ratings and attendance continue to decline as the protest continues.

So now it's damaging their business, and the league and the owners are telling them to knock it off. As usual, it's always about money. The league doesn't want to lose money, the owners sure don't want to lose money, so now if the players keep it up they will begin to lose money through fines or suspensions. Just like when they violate the uniform policy, or act out on the field. As employees, they can't do whatever the hell they want.

P Diddy is thinking about starting up a new league. Maybe that's the answer for them. Because I'm sure lots of people will tune in to see protests and other political statements during a football game. It's working so well now, right? 78

MS, in your opinion is Adrian Peterson as talented as he ever was?

I'm no MS, but I'm going to say that the Saints didn't like what they saw in him this year which leads me to believe he may have lost a step. I haven't seen any of his games this year with the Saints, but to turn a guy loose after 5 games is very telling in this league. Sean Payton knows how to dial in a run offensive scheme and he tossed Peterson onto the trade pile so there's something going on there.

That's what made me curious.

So..how you feelin' about our game tomorrow night?

AP is definitely not what he once was.

Last year he got hurt in week 2, but most educated fans could see he had lost his explosiveness and without the ability to get through a hole, we never could see if his top-end speed was still the same.

He came back in Week 14, I believe, against the Colts, and had nothing. He ended up fumbling on his longest carry that day and we got smoked.

He’ll end up in the HOF I believe, but he’ll get there without being a complete back.

He never could block and he was a below average receiving back.

Sean Payton knew after playing him in Week 1 that an offense featuring him now is completely predictable.

Run AP on 1st down, get stuffed, and now face 2nd and long.

He’ll be terrible in AZ too.

I'd feel a hell of a lot better if Lane was making the trip but Cox is coming back so hopefully Cam won't have that goofy looking smile on his face by half time.

I'm not so sure about that MS. Arians has some pretty sweet run packages that are suited to his style. With the 2 Johnson's AP may find his nitch to finish out his
career. I'm also not sold that he'll make it into the HOF. The whole child abuse thing may throw a wrench into those gears.

RE: NFL 2017 - Duchess - 10-12-2017

I'm feeling anxious. So tense. Man. It's going to be a long day.

RE: NFL 2017 - Duchess - 10-12-2017

Fletcher is starting. Thank you! Thank you, football Gods!

RE: NFL 2017 - Duchess - 10-13-2017

Eagles win! Eagles win! 5-1, baybay!

*yawns*

I made the mistake of reading/listening to a bunch of analysts yesterday. I had no self control. They pretty much all picked the Panthers. So, to sports analysts everywhere 105

RE: NFL 2017 - Midwest Spy - 10-13-2017

Funny, right before game time last night, a buddy of mine that likes to wager came and asked me what I’d do if I were forced to bet.

He said it was Carolina -3.

I said that all the experts were taking Carolina so if I HAD to bet I would’ve taken Philly +3.

Nice win for the Eagles.

The NFC East is theirs for the taking now. NYG is dead, Dallas will be without Zeke for 6 weeks it appears, so that leaves the Skins and PHIL has already won in DC.

RE: NFL 2017 - Duchess - 10-13-2017

I didn't see anyone picking the Birds, it was Cam all the way. I sorta figured it could be a toss up but I have a shit ton of hope and all day long I thought why not us.

I will be a 'Niners fan on Sunday.
