I just picked up a new amp today - Maggot - 04-09-2018

A Fender 185, there is a place next to my work that is going out of business and I stole it for 125.00 there are a few guitars and I have my eye on one that I may go get tomorrow I just hope he has a case for it.

These things are nice and have 450 amps, they can go loud and with the gain go even louder it came with a foot pedal which is unusual as they all did when they were first sold. It still had one which I was amazed with.

I don't know what gear runs up there, but $120.00 would be a steep price here for an 80's technology solid state 112 amp. It's a Fender, so i'm sure it has a bright clean sound. I had a Fender solid state practice amp back in the 80's and I hated it because the overdrive was garbage. What's so unusual about the pedal?

I was just surprised it was still with the amp after all these years.

Ah yes, well the 80's was the era for pedal technology, so one of two things usually happened with factory pedals:
1. The buyer put it in the closet with the owners manual for return/resale.
2. The buyer threw it away when he got home hah
You clearly got the type 1 buyer, which is good because he/she took very good care of it.
Now on to more interesting conversation... What are these guitars you speak of? I have a custom built strat copy (Georgia), a custom ESP strat copy (Baby) and a Dean Dime edition explorer (to date no name). The Dean is a work in progress. I need to replace the neck with an unfinished neck and replace the pickups to get the sound I want. After that is complete I will have a name for him.

There are a couple Carvins there that sound good a few scratches but who cares. It sure was an upgrade from my Peavey 20 audition. hah

Peavy is basically indestructible equipment. If I was buying a rig for a beginner I would ask to see the latest Peavy. My bass player still has his Peavy bass amp and that fucker fires up every time (he takes it camping in the travel trailer, and even outfitted his boat with a proper power supply for it). Somewhere in our rehearsal space I have a set of Peavy PA monitors that i've had since I was 15. Neither of us currently use any Peavy equipment, but we still have it to use in case of emergency after a nuclear holocaust hahhahhah Because the Peavy's will outlast the holocaust AND the cockroaches!

Are the Carvins "neck through?"

Grab them up if they are. Those are the best axes Keisel ever made.

Good god man! If it's a Keisel neck-through time is of the essence.
