It looks like Trumps policies on Illegal immigration is working 22% drop in illegals trying to sneak in across the border. if there was a wall that would be over 50% mexico is keeping many back as they do not like the tariffs.

What stopped them from coming? An open border policy?  hah

RE: What should be done about the caravan of people coming to the U.S. - Duchess - 09-10-2019

Have we EVER had an open border policy? That's a terrible idea if so.

Smugglers are reportedly cutting holes in Trump’s newly constructed border wall with saws and power tools

The steel-and-concrete portions of the walls, which President Donald Trump has touted as the solution to the flow of undocumented immigrants coming across the US-Mexico border, can be sawed apart with at least one commercially available cordless tool that retails for less than $100, according to the Post, which cites US border officials with knowledge of the damage.

In addition to cutting through the walls, officials told the Post that smugglers have also repeatedly scaled and climbed over the walls with makeshift ladders, particularly in areas near San Diego.

Money well spent, right?

Better than letting them walk across, a 100,000 pesos is a 100,000 pesos. How many illegals have that?

RE: What should be done about the caravan of people coming to the U.S. - Rootilda - 11-02-2019

Did you miss the part where there are now holes in the fence? And if they can cut thru it with a $100 tool, each group can pool their money to buy one. That fence is going to look like swiss cheese in a year.

RE: What should be done about the caravan of people coming to the U.S. - BigMark - 11-03-2019

We aren't patching the fence or watching that portion of the fence and apprehending trespassers since we know were the breach is, or can we only report it to the left wing media?

RE: What should be done about the caravan of people coming to the U.S. - Rootilda - 11-03-2019

They haven't put in an alarm system yet so finding the holes is dependent on the border patrol eyeballing every square inch of a very long border. They also have ladders. Getting past a fence isn't rocket surgery.

I don't understand what you're asking Biggie.

President Trump was advised by multiple security experts in his administration that more border agents and use of new technology would be more effective than building a great big beautiful wall.

But, Trump preferred to keep trying to build that wall instead.  At one of the construction sites, he said it would be 'virtually impenetrable' and 'impossible to climb over'.

However, as Rootilda posted, portions of the 75 miles of taxpayer-funded wall he's gotten built are indeed being cut with an inexpensive tool, and they're also being climbed over by gang members.  They are not virtually impenetrable or unscalable.

Those are just facts, confirmed by Immigration and Border Control, and reported by multiple media outlets.  Why does it bother you that they're being reported?

Anyway, it's also true, no matter who's reporting it, that border authorities are actively monitoring for holes and repairing them, after the fact.

I'm not sure how often border control agents actually catch smugglers and gang members in the act because, as far as I know, the government isn't releasing those numbers.  Do you know?

It's brain science compared to just walking across the unsecured border.

I think the wall is most likely a deterrent to some undocumented immigrants and possibly some low level criminals. But, it's definitely not virtually impenetrable and impossible to climb over.

Undocumented immigrants is like unprosecuted felons. It's treason to use terms like that, keep up this baloney and this belly will be off limits to you forever and always.

It's not illegal for an immigrant to refrain from crossing the US the border without documentation because the wall has deterred him/her.  That was the context of my post.  Read back.

It's also not illegal for certain categories of immigrants to cross the border without documentation if they go to the proper port of entry and then fill out the paperwork.

They are  'undocumented immigrants' and not doing anything unlawful.  So, I'm not gonna label them 'illegal immigrants' just because the more accurate term gets your skivvies in a wad Biggie............even if it means giving up Biggie belly access for life.

For those immigrants who sneak in by climbing through, over, or under the wall............they're undocumented as well, but the term 'illegal immigrants' fits (and doesn't personally offend me).

trump says his reinforced fence is impenetrable. He says the best mountain climbers in the world couldn't climb his fence, he says it can't be cut, he says NO ONE IS GETTING THROUGH THIS FENCE! Immigrants said, HOLD MY BEER! They then proceed to climb the fence. 28
