You can't take away the rights of American citizens. If you're an american citizen and become pregnant by an undocumented person or if you impregnate an undocumented person, the baby is considered an american citizen if born here. If that's going to change than my 24 year old daughter is going to be sent to Hungary I guess.

I have contacts in Canada. Call me.

That is NOT what Trump is talking about, and has nothing to do with it. You're all set.

Does Trump agree with you that so long as the mother is in the U.S. legally her U.S.-born baby should be granted citizenship, Mags?

Or, does he deem the legal residency or American citizenship of the father to be citizen-worthy criteria if the mother is here illegally?

Or, does he want to emulate Canada and grant citizenship to the U.S.-born baby so long as either one of the parents is a citizen?

None of that is clear from what I've heard Trump espouse and each of those scenarios has vastly different impacts to the people of this country.

I wouldn't think that's what he means, but as with anything you can't trust the goverment to make up common sense laws.

You have a point government usually fucks things up but they do it very efficiently.

RE: Anchor babies - HairOfTheDog - 10-31-2018

Hey, I listen to what the President and other politicians say and watch what they do Mags.

But, I don't talk to or speak for the President and don't claim that I do.

You're the one who's presumably talking to him, since you're making assurances as to what he isn't talking about (though I've never heard the President himself make any such assurances/specifications).

Blowing-kisses

^ That's a cute little Swedish-American anchor baby Biggie.  I don't mind if he stays here, where he was born, or comes back here some day.

I don't mind if this cute Honduran-American anchor baby does either.

Maybe Trump will let little Alejandro keep his citizenship based on the 'winner hairdo exception' he's reportedly talking about within his inner circle.  ')

RE: Anchor babies - BigMark - 10-31-2018

Lots of fair haired babies in Mexico City and Jalisco you damn gringo.

RE: Anchor babies - Carsman - 10-31-2018

The anchor baby problem could possibly be solved by amending the 14th amendment.
It was written in July 1866, and ratified in July 1868, for citizenship. Times and conditions have changed since it was first written!

By putting a minimum time limit that a woman has to be living here in the USA for at least 11 months before having a child here, and it becoming a natural born citizen, could be a start. It could be a work in progress, if need be.

That revised amendment would prevent a woman from just coming to the USA, and stepping on US soil, immediately have her child, and it automatically becomes a US citizen. It's not fair to alien children not born here, but are already living here for some time and are not yet citizens.

The updated amendment would make a woman and her man, if she has one, think twice before coming to the USA just to try to make their unborn child an immediate US citizen.

There are a lot of dark haired babies in Sweden too, pendejo.  What's your point?

RE: Anchor babies - BigMark - 10-31-2018

You're racist.

RE: Anchor babies - HairOfTheDog - 10-31-2018

That point won't prick.  However, I was mock-stereotyping based on nationality.

I feel bad about the egregious PC breach.  The babies deserve better and I'll be more mindful not to do it in the future.

So, ^ this anchor baby of two Somalian tourists sure is cute and has a good chance of exploiting the 'winner hairdo' citizenship exception, in my opinion.

RE: Anchor babies - sally - 10-31-2018

That's not an anchor baby, that's cynical ninja.

RE: Anchor babies - HairOfTheDog - 10-31-2018

Actually..........Cynical Ninja's parents are Somalian.

He was born in Memphis while they were vacationing near Graceland.

His caustic Brit bit was all just a troll.

(I thought I'd seen that baby somewhere before, now I remember his old av.)
