So Guess who got summoned for Jury Duty today, 3 guess, first two don't count!
Man my town is really screwed up, last time I did Jury Duty was close to 20 years ago!
I did my Jury Duty, served at least a dozen times over the years.
Letter said I have to respond, "it's the law"!
I will respond, count me out, I won't be available! Have a nice day.

I got a summons once that said to call a certain number the day before to see if you needed to go to the Courthouse. I wasn't needed. I've never got any other summons for jury duty.

That was a dozen or more times I served, that was not counting the over dozen or more times I was summoned,
but excused when I called to see if I was needed. (They summoned me like every 16 to 18 months)

I have never got to serve either due to jobs or -being in the mountains-and then when I was able to do it, they didn't need me!
My favorite tho was when I did live in the mountain and wrote them a long letter of what it would take for me to serve. In order to call and be available for Monday, I would have to ride the boat down on Sunday and then be "out" for a whole week mostly unable to do my job remotely and then return the following Sunday or whenever the time was over. I got excused.

I am going to be spending Sat-Mon with my sister. Help me Lord. I will need to start drinking and smoking again.
Both of my sisters are going through rough times and I have been their sounding board for the last couple of weeks. I am going into the mountains at the end of August. No family time!
I always find it wierd when I feel like my life is going fine and then the shit hits the fan for others. I guess its nice to have that balance, but it always makes me feel wierd.
I somehow magically survived the time with my sister AND I HAD FUN!
AND I feel like I actually had a little mini-vacation.

That's great! Sometimes the people I haven't seen in years are the best ones to hang out with, family or not it's all about getting along and having fun. It sucks that it's usually at a funeral or something.
