I am up to chapter 11. So far the sex parts are pretty good. The story itself is ok. I am not sucked into the point where I can't put it down like everyone said I would be. But we'll see. I like it but it's not like I would tell everyone to read it cuz it's an awsome book. I read a lot. Not as much lately cuz I haven't had the time. But I have read a lot of books so when I find one that is really good, I recommend it to everyone. This one so far, I would say yea, it's a decent read but I wouldn't say it was great.

If fine writing is like bittersweet truffles, this book is like a wad of Gummi Bears stuck to your back teeth.

When I read for pleasure I don't look for anything deep. I read fluff, James Patterson, Lisa Gardner, the gay blonde with the Kay Scarpetti character, her name is escaping me right now, books of that nature.

Patricia Cornwell. Those are not fluff Duchess. Fluff is a Harlequin Romance. LOL I love the Kay Scarpetta series and Jp's books. I also love the In Death series by JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts).

I'm glad I checked this thread! Some of the recommendations sound interesting! I'm nearing the end of the 3rd Game of Thrones book, A Storm of Swords.
This series isn't one of them but I do enjoy a book that is interesting and makes me laugh. John Locke has a $.99 series for Kindle only that is ubber light reading but funny as hell. Some of the books are far too short though...but cheap.
I think the main character is Donovan Creed.

Yes. I finished the first book and they leave you hanging so of course you have to read the others. I am not as "omg, I can't put this down" like most people. I am getting a Kindle Fire so I will just DL the the other two. The first book didn't get into as much of the DOM/SUB stuff as I thought it would. Which is good actually. What little I read convinced me that I would never want to be part of that world. I am too much of a smart ass to ever be a submissive.

I tried to read it, and that sounds about right.
The writing is banal and mind numbingly dull. It is so poorly written even sex can't save it quite frankly.

I think with this series you either love it or it's meh. I am in the meh camp. I might get the second one just to see what happens and cuz I need a book to read on the plane to ATL. I never got into the Twilight books either. A lot of my friends are totally into that and the movies too. Just not my thing I guess.

What amazes me is that people are paying for a book that was published for free as fan fiction.
I can't even imagine reading through to second book.

I don't have the time to sit down and read much these days, and with the cateracts in both eyes it gets uncomfortable. Several years ago I discovered Books On Tape and developed a pretty expensive habit after a while. I wore out the tape decks in 2 cars. There was a tape rental place close to the house and they had a quarterly membership program. I think companies like Audible and the Ipod put them out of business. So now I run around listning to a book on my iPhone all the time. I think I have more than 100 books in my librairy. I get onto one author or another that I like and go through their entire list. I am currently coming to the end of The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, its about the adventures of Harry Dresden, a practicing Wizard in chicago. Pretty well written. I have worked my through all of Steven King, John Sandford, James Lee Burke, most of Anne Rice, most of Dean Koontz. Just got a notification from Audible, they finally got all of the Travis McGee series from John D Macdonald and am looking forward to all 21 of them.

I watched exodus the other night, I do love that movie, Paul Newman is so good looking too, so I decided to read the book again, hopefully it doesn't take me months to finish it as I don't get much time anymore to read. I love Leon Uris books.

@sixfooter, I never saw the allure of books-on-tape until I took a long driving trip and popped a couple in for the ride. Very entertaining, and made the miles go away pretty smoothly. I haven't checked any out recently, but they were fun at the time.
