Suffocation is not a widely used method of homicide, it almost sounds like they were asking questions of one while the other was having the plastic put over their head and tied off, I figure the perps got whatever info they needed and then suffocated the other one as a witness to the death of the first.

LC is right it is sloppy and I would imagine that the scene is ripe with DNA and fiber evidence, will it lead anywhere? it could if one of the two or three people I see doing the crime has been to prison in the last 10 years? if not then DNA becomes a less viable form of evidence than what LE would like the population to believe.

This case will hinge on the bragging of one of the involved at a later date it's inevitable for the age group it's all about getting cred for an act of violence.

Pinky:just because guns were not used to kill does not imply there were not guns at the scene.

if my theory is correct, they did not go there with murder in mind. and if the premise that they were "pros" is correct, they would have guns and used them. pros do not kill with plastic garbage bags. and pros don't have traceable/registered guns.
IF my thinking is correct, these are personal, unplanned murders.

of course this is just theory.

I used to skydive a lot, and one of the forums I kept a close eye on was the "incidents" forum at dropzone.com. it's a pleasant way to day "threads about people who were injured and/or died while skydiving." My time was there well-spent in that it oftentimes allowed me to learn from the mistakes of others so that i might possibly reduce my chances of suffering the same outcome.

those threads were sometimes filled with conjecture based on eyewitness reports, secondhand information, as well as generally useless media reports. eventually the conjecture would dwindle to a drip, then eventually stop altogether, for lack of new information.

I have a feeling there's really not a whole lot more that can really be posed regarding this crime until additional reliable information is released or leaked.

I still hold true to the thought that these killings will go unpunished for a very long time. as in decades. That is, if they are ever solved.

so mr. z is clearly a person of interest if he was asked to take a poly. wonder if his female friend was also asked.

i know what you mean Pinky, and i usually don't wander around making wild conjectures. there has been zero zilch nada in news outlets today, a blackout as it were. LE has a tight lid on.
but i disagree about decades. i do think they have suspects and are putting together a case based on forensics.

I certainly do hope that is the case. for all my cynicism, i would love nothing more than to have the perpetrators located and brought to justice sooner rather than never.

I'm not sure mr.z mom called my mom asking to borrow 400 dollars for a retainer fee that they would be taking him to wood county on Monday for a polygraph and she needed the money to get a lawyer for her son. I believe the murders happened in lucus county but the nearest juvenile detention center is located in bowling green which if they make an arrest he will be taken to JDC in bowling green(wood county)

this makes no sense. why would they be giving a polygraph test in wood county and allegedly sending him to a juve facility in BG (wood county again) when there's a juvenile detention center right in downtown toledo, in lucas county, maybe fifteen minutes from where the crime took place?

also, my thinking is that in such a high profile case, there would not be any sort of a retainer fee whatsoever. area lawyers would be clamoring to represent such an individual.

he's a juvenile?? oh hell, there goes the death penalty. but Ohio can try him as an adult if it comes to that.
it also may explain why there has been no police comment. is the female a juvenile too?
so perhaps the lie detector is for his lawyer, not the police? that happens often, but the lawyer won't give out any results unless it's a pass with flying colors. and of course, they are not used in court unless both sides stipulate to it.

note to Pinky: as far as housing a suspect, perhaps he needs to be in protective custody outside the town if he is charged.

still makes no sense. downtown toledo *is* outside the town of maumee, in the same manner that bowling green would be.

you think they're moving a "suspect" twenty minutes south on I-75 to get separation from the crime scene?

and what lawyer charges a $400 retainer for a potentially capital murder case??

just doesn't add up LC. sounds to me more like this phantom "mr.z" is nothing more than that...how does some random poster on mock know all this but the mainstream news media knows absolutely squat about it?

They had all there family over yesterday night and the night before that. They were upset yes but coping. They said the hardest part was yesterday at the funeral home picking out everything. source also said the funeral will be on Wednesday and will be release an obit but will not be releasing the time as they do not want certain people attending.

Search warrant shows Springfield Township victim’s wrists and ankles bound

A search warrant filed by detectives in Lucas County Common Pleas Court showed that Johnny S. Clarke, 21 — one of the victims in a double homicide this week — had both his ankles and wrists bound with duct tape.

Killed in Springfield Township was Lisa Straub, 20, and her boyfriend, Clarke, who had been living with the Straubs at their home. Both were asphyxiated with plastic bags tied around their necks.

Clarke’s wrists and ankles were bound with duct tape, while Miss Straub’s wrists were bound with duct tape.

Investigators seized a variety of items from the home after the victims’ bodies were found about 3:50 a.m. Monday — cell phones, wallets, articles of clothing, computers, and other items from which they hoped to lift fingerprints.

FBI agents were assisting the sheriff’s office with the investigation.

as I mentioned before, i've known this for a while. i have sources as well, they just are not verifiable. nice to have it officially out though.

i don't think i need to reiterate my opinion again, this post does nothing but confirm the same thoughts i have had from the start. still one sad, sad story no matter how you look at it.
