The motive for the murder is Johnny Clarke is a braggart!

Maytee told everyone - that Lisa's Uncle asked her "Maytee, did they get the safe?" Maytee stated she didn't know anything about a safe.

If it was a robbery gone wrong why didn't the two accused wear ski masks and gloves tie Johnny and Lisa up get the "nonexistent safe" contents and scram. There are plenty of home invasions unfortunately but, the people don't end up suffocated to death.
Williams and Pettaway are not known robbers and burglars, Cameo Pettaway has 12 mugshots 11 of them are domestic violence, assault & drug possession. Sam Williams has 8 mugshots 7 are mostly domestic violence & assault, 1 is prostitution.
Aaron Griffin the good old safe expert got in a heated row with Maytee and he claimed over and over he was innocent of this crime and he said something along these lines "who in their right mind would encase a safe behind drywall that no one can access". He thought it was a dumb ass robbery.

Imo i have always believed this was a robbery gone horribly wrong. I imagine that the perps entered the house, possibly armed, used their weapon to imtimidate johnny and lisa so they would comply. I do think they were after an alleged safe and they probably thought these kids in the suburbs would be an easy target. I think things probably got outta hand when the victims kept denying there being a safe in the house. By the looks of both sam and cameo's criminal history, i would guess that they got pretty pissed off when they continued to deny there being a safe in the house because it is rumored that johnny himself was bragging about it. I think things just escalated from there and got way out of hand.

Kitty1 is family and I respect what she has to say about the crime, she did answer my question awhile back & the Straub's had no Bed Bath and Beyond bags in the home. As mentioned on the Court Dockets Amy Teneyck who was interviewed and investigated by JGI could possibly be the AT with the ring at least Adub thinks so. She has now become friends with Cameo Pettaway on Facebook
the one he uses in jail she was on his old one all along.

I've been thinking. First of all, I really am old in case there is any doubt 75+. I can not think of anybody my age who would be on MOCK, unless they have a very strong interest. That having been said, IMO it makes no difference what so ever if Straubs had a safe or not! What does matter , is that Johnny was putting the word out that they did. If I remember correctly, I think Johnny had put out (I think on FB) that there was a safe and that Lisa's father had given him the key or combination to it. Didn't he talk about counting the money and fanning himself with it? Also, I think that it was on one of Maytee's televised interviews that she talked about Lisa's uncle only being interested in the safe. You know, kids are dead and all he could focus on the safe. Right! I seriously doubt that the conversation took place. If it did, maybe the uncle asked in a sarcastic voice. What if he had already been told about the story that Johnnie was telling? Possibillity that he was trying to get under Maytee's skin??? I have no idea, but I do know, that the story about Johnny's bragging was out REAL early on . Think hours! Again, IMO, I don't think that all these details are very important, especially at this point!

The Toledo Blade had their archives down for awhile I'm not sure if everything from a year ago is back up and running, The Norwalk Reflector picked up the story and it has all the experts and opinions.

It is possible there are more than 2 thugs involved here we don't know yet, and it is possible a robbery was staged, I think it's very odd to bring in bags and duct tape and they wrapped the bags with duct tape to suffocate them.

I copied what Lisa's uncle had to say.

If the two accused are found guilty as charged only they are to blame for Johnny and Lisa's death.

Jim Verbosky, an uncle of Ms. Straub, said he is certain the killers knew that his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Mary Beth Straub, were out of town. He believes the killers had gone to the house to steal a safe containing cash -- a safe, he insists, that didn't exist.

"There is a kitchen with an island and an open eating area that went into an open family room. That was not ransacked, but you could tell there was a fight that ensued there," he said. "Plants were knocked over. Things were broken and knocked over, but upstairs, Mary Beth and Jeff's room was ransacked to the point where it looked like a TV show. All the drawers were out, and they had punched holes in the walk-in closet looking for a safe that never existed. There was no safe."

The Straubs, who were on a Caribbean cruise to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, went through the house when they returned, and the only thing missing, Mr. Verbosky said, was $84 or so in cash that they'd left in a change jar in their bedroom. Electronics, jewelry, computers were not taken.

"Everything was intact," he said. "Two computers, a laptop, a brand-new flat-screen TV -- everything. If someone is going to rob something and that was their motive, all of their electronics and all that stuff would've been gone."

inmate witnesses...not the most reliable testimony. they usually get ripped to shreds on the stand. for lack of cred.
i wonder if a couple of those are jail snitches that he blabbed to...that happens a lot.

They are Cameo niggas all the way this Eric Taylor is a violent thug. AT's one child's name is the same as Cameo's middle name. This AT had to have protection orders against him taken out and then they file charges against him for threatening to kill her with a gun over and over charges are filed and then she turns around and fails to appear. From what little I found out it looks like he was not in jail when Johnny and Lisa were murdered.

On June 5th 2011 a Domestic Violence complaint was filed against Eric Taylor on June 7th 2011 he was booked down at the Lucas County Jail. On June 8th 2011 on the Discovery re; the (ring) from AT LCSO. On June 10th 2011 on the Discovery re; DVDs from AT. June 10th 2011 re; consent to search AT's apartment.

There are uppers and downers. Uppers: Drugs that speed your brain up. Downers: drugs that speed your brain down.

When homicides occur usually the suspect is found to be on an upper. I would be much more afraid of a meth head over a stoner.

The guy I dated along time ago told me he only sold pot because they were easy laid back customers. Yes he could have made more money selling cocaine, and opiates but he told me he didn't want to deal with those types of customers. Because they would be knocking on his door at all hours of the night, trying to rob him if they didn't have money and were needing a fix etc.

So the reason I say I believe they were killed over uppers is because more money is involved in uppers and people on uppers are crazy. I am sure Cameo sold weed, coke, crack or whatever he got his hands on where he could get high for free or make some money... but I doubt their motives that January night were over weed.

I do believe that Johnny was a drug dealer and I am sure Lisa sold drugs to to make some extra cash...I don't think they were dealers that made thousands of dollars a month, but I am sure they made something.

Both johnny and lisa's family say they don't know cameo or sam. Straub's house was targeted it wasn't random. If they didn't know each other ...cameo and sam probably got a tip that johnny was a drug dealer and was an easy target...

As far as me saying maybe they grew pot in Lisa's basement. I don't think they did. However, I grew up in a bedroom community of Boston with houses much bigger than Lisa's and you'd be surprised a lot of those parents did smoke pot and some did grow a couple of plants for personal use.

I think the suspects chose Lisa and Johnny as a target probably because of the alleged safe and because Johnny was a dealer and they assumed they would get cash and drugs. As Lisa's uncle stated that the suspects didn't touch the flat screen, laptop etc this is because they were looking for something bigger. I am sure flat screen tvs don't make much of a profit on the street. they were looking for cash and what does make money on the street drugs.

For all we know the suspects could have gotten away with a lot of cash and a lot of drugs. The police do not share everything with the public.

Lets pretend the Straub's did have a safe with a lot of cash, and the suspects did get away with a lot of cash. Would the police make this public information? Don't they often withhold stuff like this because it may hinder the investigation?

If I was Mrs. Straub, I would be terrified/shocked that my daughter was dead, and I would not want the media announcing to the public that we kept a lot of cash in the house and we have a safe.
