We are going to disagree on this. I think we should be run like a business. We need someone who knows how to manage money & a definite bottom line.

No we aren't, dammit. hah Okay, maybe just a little. I don't disagree that the skill would be helpful I just think because of all the endless politics involved in getting things done, a President's individual ability at business gets (or would get) all mucked up prior to execution. The President doesn't get to just sit down, write a budget and watch it get executed. It gets slaughtered along the way by both sides.

I don't really like politics & I don't think my vote counts. I know that no one cares about me as a citizen other than those that think something of me as the person I am. I really just want to co-rule my little world.

Politics piss me off. Smiley_emoticons_slash

Me too. Romney is a possibility for me (I need to study all the candidates better though). I just wish he could embrace his inner moderate instead of waffling on the issues and bending towards the hard right. But he needs (or thinks he needs) those hard right votes. Probably true in the primary but up against Obama, I think he'd fare better showing himself as more of a fiscal conservative but more moderate on social policies. He could get a lot of the independent voters.

Me, too, Duchess. I concur completely.

I make sure I vote in every local election because that is where our true power lies. Other than that, nobody gives a shit about us individually, so we have to take care of our own situations.

Imagine if every time Bill Gates wanted to make a decision at MicroSoft, he largely had to go out and get the employees to vote on his decision (or vote to hire people that would carry out his decisions). Anyway, bad analogy but you get my point. I think business acumen is handy but it's not a major factor for me.

He does have to ask someone, every since he went public.

Besides Bill Gates doen't run microsoft anymore.

This is what a really bad idea looks like.

Washington (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich's campaign manager, Rob Johnson, has resigned, a Republican source tells CNN.

Several other senior advisers to the campaign also resigned, according to another source.

Top aides to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich have resigned en masse, Fox News has learned, imperiling the Republican's 2012 presidential campaign at a crucial time.

hah

RE: 2012 ELECTION - Duchess - 06-09-2011

Hahahaha!

I'd really like to know what brought that on. Something has happened to make them leave en masse.

RE: 2012 ELECTION - Cracker - 06-09-2011

Sounds like ol' Newt screwed the pooch.

RE: 2012 ELECTION - Cracker - 06-09-2011

If you people want this country to run right, we need to put a cowboy back in the White House. Fuck the bleeding hearts and community activists. Fuck the ivory towers and commercial giants. Just put a fucking cowboy in the White House to mete out some range justice and we'll get back to where we need to be.

Cowboys don't put on a show or waste money. They don't give a fuck what other people think. They don't take things that don't belong to them and they only pay people what they earned. They believe in right and wrong and they don't lie. And cowboys can kick some ass.

I miss Ronnie.

I can attest to that! Awink

RE: 2012 ELECTION - Duchess - 06-10-2011

Regarding Newt, I've just heard it reported that instead of focusing on his campaign like his top aides wanted he choose to spend the last few weeks on a luxury cruise to Greece in the company of his wife who insisted he take it slow when it comes to his run for the White House. Good advice! Hahaha!

RE: 2012 ELECTION - Duchess - 07-03-2011

Here's another one & I've never heard of him. I can't find the damn deadline for entering the race. Is it a secret? 78

U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) announced his candidacy for president of the United States on Saturday in his home state of Michigan.

Yeah good old uncle Ron, leader of the most corrupt administration in the history of American politics.

A single tear rolls down my cheek.

RE: 2012 ELECTION - Duchess - 08-13-2011

Texas Gov. Rick Perry joined the Republican presidential field Saturday and told supporters he would make the federal government "as inconsequential in your lives as I can" by reducing taxes and easing regulations.

RE: 2012 ELECTION - IMaDick - 08-13-2011

Perry and Paul would make a good ticket
