I left it up to my husband (bye-bye foreskin). I think "the norm" has been self-perpetuating. Because most American boys have been circumcised, well, people didn't want their kids to be "different" I guess. The practice is declining though.
I can say though--out of the 100+ penises I've seen, I think I've only ever seen one uncircumcised.
And Sally's right. I don't think it's something that needs to be legislated for chrissake.

I think it's a clean issue for most people. I wouldn't want to have to do a head cheese inspection if I ever encountered an uncircumcised penis. I'm serious. You ladies don't think ALL men are at one with their hygiene, do you? I'm sure most of the men on here have come across a nasty snatch at least once.
A circumcised penis also looks more appealing to the naked eye.
Those are the reasons it's so popular in the US.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a fan of the cut.

Here's a story about circumcision.
A guy is out on a first date with this hot chick.
After dinner at a fine restaurant it's a beautiful warm evening, so they decide to go for a walk.
After walking for a few blocks, they pass an apartment building. Where it just so happens on the second floor apartment with an open window, there is a Rabbi performing a circumcision. The Rabbi goes snip snip, and throws the tip out the window.
Well wouldn't you know, as the couple pass the window it lands right on the guys shoulder, and the hot chick couldn't help but notice, and asks, what's that?

On Saturday, Governor Jerry Brown signed AB 131, the second bill of the two-part California Dream Act, allowing undocumented immigrant students to apply for state-funded financial aid for college.
In July, Brown signed AB 130, making funding from private sources available to undocumented students. With Saturday's signing of AB 131, the California Dream Act passed in its entirety, granting undocumented students access to public and private funding for college.
