Yeah, sadly, I'm thinking this was a sexual assault and murder. Was hoping for an accidental slip, but if she's got a blanket wrapped around her and she was "put" in the water, something bad happened to her. Probably raped. But, the cause and manner of death are still wide open and whatever happened, I hope it was fast.
I don't know much about rape kits, but I'm assuming they involve attempting to gather DNA sources, blood, semen, signs of genital trauma, etc... Sexual assault could probably be determined with little of this type of evidence if visual inspection and circumstantial evidence point in that direction...
What's your thinking?

After the Casey Scamthony trial, I hope there is a lot of powerful evidence.
I don't know how warm that water was by the hydroelectric dam. If it was on the output side, it would be warm and decomp much worse. Supposedly bodies under water are more preserved, but I've never see any statistic that says how much better preserved they are. I have seen a lot of really gross things as a nurse, but no way am I going to any Body Farm sites to see if a 7 to 10 day decomping body would still show vaginal/anal trauma. Beyond blech.

Based on some quick searching, looks like signs of trauma (sexual or otherwise) are visible for a longer time if the body is submerged in water, particularly colder water, because decomposition occurs more slowly.
Likewise a body submerged in water decomposes at half the rate of an exposed body. The rate of decomposition depends on the temperature of the water. Cold water will allow slow decomposition and warm water causes faster decomposition. The body is also shielded from insect activity as long as it is submerged.

Whoever is posting the Facebook site asking for donations is an embarrassment to this entire family. Someone should bind and gag her fingers. The poor sick dad probably has no idea what is going on there. The mom certainly doesn't know.

So my question is this, are ANY of the "male species" living in that home Registered Sex Offenders? I understand they have been charged with sexual crimes, but at any of them registered? I don't remember seeing if they were in fact registered.
HellNurse, are you personally familiar with the people involved? I also feel sorry for this father, he is very sick from what I understand. Unable to care for himself, let alone a little girl. Just sad, and if he has such a heart condition they are going to have to really medicate that poor man. Losing a child is hard on the heart. ALSO, I LOVE your insight. haha When it comes to movie references I was thinking more along the lines of "the hills have eyes". Scary Shit!!!

I'm thinking the AAG had a good idea of cause of death the day they pulled the body from the river. Never seen Jane Young choke up before. In a way, guess it's good for Celina that she was dumped in water - first visual inspection probably gave LE more information to run with than if she'd been dry. Though water could diminish some DNA sources. MAN I wish we'd get an update..
And, I agree. If this doesn't end up being sexually motivated, Wendell looks like a stronger suspect to me. He was diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic, so possibly he went off his meds and got violent. IDK...

Non-Compliant means that whatever he agreed to do at sentencing...probation, evaluations, drug screens, fines, registering, etc....he did not do!! AND if that is the case a court date is usually scheduled to review with the Judge WHY, and if they do not show up a nice little warrant is issued. SO my question now would be, is there any outstanding warrants on these men?

Yep, I'd like to know about warrants too. Also like to know if either of these fine gentlemen has been arrested on charges unrelated to Celina since she was located. Figure we'd have heard about it if a sex offender relative of a presumed murdered little girl was subsequently incarcerated, but we're not hearing much of anything in the press and LE is not releasing anything yet. Hopeful that means they have a good idea as to who and what and are compiling all the evidence for charges and/or a Grand Jury is underway.
