RE: Living in the past? - Clang McFly - 11-23-2012 ^Love Son of a Preacher Man. Always makes me think of Pulp Fiction. RE: Living in the past? - Maggot - 11-24-2012 Dusty Springfield was very expresive with her hands and arms, I love watching her sing. She was very expressive, great voice, and loved her style too. BUT, she wasn't as expressive as this guy, who I'm listening to now. RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 11-26-2012 For @LoveChild: Such a great song, imo. Heard it on the oldies station on the drive home and had @LoveChild's avatar in my mind the whole time. Don't bother asking for explanations, she'll just tell you that she came... In the Year of the Cat.' One of my faves! RE: Living in the past? - Maggot - 11-29-2012 I remember being in the dentist office and that song was on as he yanked my wisdom teeth out. It still hurts the same. RE: Living in the past? - Midwest Spy - 11-29-2012 Songs always bring you back to specific places and times. However, they can't always guarantee the memories are happy ones. IIRC, he played ahead of Donovan that night. That was my favorite place to see a show - steak, full bar, nobody stressed if you puffed in the bathroom - great acts in a small dark venue. Black Crowes killed it there too; saw 'em right when "Hard to Handle" hit the airwaves. Got pulled over leaving the Al Stewart show because the path leading to the Coach House is an unlit dirt road (at least, it used to be); wasn't "drunk" but definitely buzzed and shouldn't have been driving. Luckily, the PD let my boyfriend take the wheel. Dodged a bullet; it was stupid. Great show though. Definitely living in the past today... Another great one of his, Time Passages: RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 12-02-2012 This is false; all of California is very wet today. It's okay though; we're gonna be foolish about it. RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 12-05-2012 Midwest Spy request. "Hangin' on a String" by Loose Ends, 1985... RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 12-05-2012 RIP Jazz great Dave Brubeck Dec 6, 1920 to Dec 5, 2012 RE: Living in the past? - Adub - 12-05-2012 Hey, I know this guy. Saw him last at Mills College at an Alumni event thingie in 06. He didn't act his age at all. I first met him in the late 60s thru the my older brother who also went to Mills. Brubeck was his artistic inspiration. RE: Living in the past? - Adub - 12-06-2012 But my Elvis is still alive RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 12-06-2012 Brubeck was amazing and Elvis Costello is too. Good stuff, Adub.
