Gene declined, not on a talent level, he just knew Ed wouldn't be content to play Ace's parts and follow suit as instructed. Imagine what a trip it would be if Ed was in Kiss instead of VH.

Man, that would have been one drama-filled "Behind the Music" episode.

Considering Sammy Hagar found Eddie too consistently comfortably numb to work with, I doubt drug-free Gene would have been a happy man -- despite Eddie's undeniable unique talent.

Zappa was even less tolerant of altered states than Gene and probably woulda kicked Eddie outta auditions even. But, Dweezil was pretty effin' lucky to have Eddie as a teacher and producer.

Anyway, I love this clip -- Eddie paying tribute to Les Paul.

P.s. MS, it was Gazzarri's, not Garrazi's. And, it was a very raw and dirty venue. I loved it. I think you would have absolutely hated it (aside from the music and the girls, of course).
Thanks for posting this. It brings back memories. Blowing-kisses

All personal preferences aside you can't reasonably expect to retain credibility by giving "album of the year" to an album that few outside the left coast ever listened to. But then the Grammys never really has been about credibility has it ?*coughcoughJethroTullheavymetalcough*
Haven't watched and award ceremony since.

If I need to call their families with bad news soon, I want to be awake and informed when I tell them what they absolutely don't wanna hear and be able to answer their questions.

I don't like my work sometimes.

That must be very difficult! Do you deal exclusively deal with hospice care?
My hat is off to you.....Respect-applause

RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 02-11-2015

Thanks blueberry. Most of my clients are not on hospice, but some of them eventually become hospice patients and we work hand-in-hand with the hospice nurses and social workers in those cases. We also provide contract caregiving services to local hospice providers when they call for assistance. It's not difficult really, but scheduling, staffing, and focus is different for end-of-life care versus the majority of caregiving we provide.

I like Barry White's baritone a lot too. This is off one of his later releases.

^ I love it, Crash.

Sally's an asshole and hates this thread, but she's smart. I bet even she likes that song live -- Neil's just so gone and so right there.

So, I'm kinda buzzed. I'm a little bit gone and just about here:

I think "Superstition" is such a slamming song.

Sadly, I don't like anything Little Stevie has done in the last 2.5 decades or so, but I was blown away by his early stuff. I feel the same about Elton John.

Doesn't matter -- I don't begrudge them for kinda catering to commercialism and selling out -- sometimes people just gotta slown down, lower the beat, put a little more change in their pockets, and ease out after an exceptionally strong start.

Thanks, Hair, enjoyed listening to Al...Wishing you a great date and hoping maybe this could be "the love of your life." It is a fact that everyone has a right to love and be loved...Anyway, IMO, you would be a good catch for anyone so carry on.

RE: Living in the past? - HairOfTheDog - 04-04-2015

Thank you blueberry.

The date is someone with whom I've been sharing love for several years. He's got a sure thing on his hands tonight. Awink

Definitely one of the loves of my life.

Anyway, I have a few more hours all to myself -- drinking a little wine and going way back. I love Dusty's voice and style.

P.s. I'm really glad you're here at Mock. You're a smart, funny, and sometimes very weird woman. I like those things in a person.
