Rampant Abuse and Murders of Children
#61
How can you leave a 3 and 4 year old in a tent to care for themselves??? I cannot comprehend that.

I am sure you all heard the story about the mother here who drove into the Hudson River with her four kids? She died and three of the kids died. The oldest managed to escape. Well guess who she was insured with? Yep, my company. One of my co-workers was assigned the loss. She thought the name sounded familiar and googled it because it was the tow company that filed the claim. When the story popped up, she totally lost it. I can't say I wouldn't have either. It's one thing to read about it but to actually have to be involved? It's awful.

]OCOEE, Fla. -- A mother of three children was arrested for child neglect after police say she got drunk at an Ocoee bar and passed out with her four-year-old in her lap.

Police say 37-year-old Kira Logsdon-Mitchell went to Frank's Place around 10:30 Thursday night and sat with a group of men, drinking beer for more than 20 minutes. A bartender said that's when the mother went outside and brought in her four-year-old son who she had left alone in the car. Twat

The bartender at Frank's Place on North Clarke Road was so concerned she called 911.

When police arrived they said Logsdon-Mitchell was passed out with the child in her arms. Police escorted her outside and gave her a breathalyzer test. She blew a .215 which is almost three times the legal limit.

Police called the woman's mother who told them Logsdon-Mitchell had two other kids who were home alone. They were just seven and nine-years-old.

Ocoee police arrested Logsdon-Mitchell for three counts of child neglect. The Department of Children and Families placed the kids with their grandmother.

Logsdon-Mitchell has posted bond.

OMG, look what booze did to her. I assume she's still fairly young because of the ages of the kids.

Millions of lives destroyed by alcohol.

watch as this dirty bitch tries to smother her baby. video at link below.

Shantaniqua? ghetto sewer fucking name.

This is the shocking moment a teenage mother attempts to smother her baby in a hospital.

Hidden video cameras caught 18-year-old Shantaniqua Scott place a blanket over her four-month-old son's mouth.

Moments later she clamps her hand over his face and mouth as the newborn baby kicks and struggles for life as his air supply is cut off.

By the time the teenage single mother removes her hand her son Raymond's body appears limp.

Seconds later, with alarms going off indicating the baby had stopped breathing, doctors and nurses rush in to resuscitate him.

The shocking footage was played to a shocked courtroom in Texas where Scott is on trial for attempting to kill her newborn son.

Gary, Indiana

Despite warnings, authorities didn't prevent caged boy's death
'We failed him,' retired child-welfare official says

Lori Wingard had a bad feeling about what was going on in the mobile home across the street, bad enough that she said she called authorities not once, but twice.

As many as 10 children lived with Riley Choate and his wife, Kimberly Kubina, in the Gary trailer park, and teens and even toddlers seemed to come and go at all hours, even on school days.

And there was one boy Wingard never saw: Christian Choate, a 12-year-old the Choates said needed to be "guarded" 24 hours a day. Wingard's husband went inside once in the summer of 2008 to fix a fuse box, and saw the scrawny child cower as Riley Choate bellowed threats at him.

"(Christian) was just terrified. He hid in a corner like they had him tied there," she recalled.

Wingard said she called the Indiana Department of Child Services that day, and again a few weeks later. After both calls, she saw someone, she assumes a caseworker for the state, visit the Choates' trailer and talk to Kubina on the front porch.

Earlier this month Kubina and Choate were charged with murder in Christian's 2009 death following years of alleged abuse that included locking him in a dog cage for most of the last two years of his life, according to authorities. Reading the news more than three years after she first called authorities, Wingard joined a shocked public in wondering: How could this happen?

A Tribune review of court records and interviews with neighbors, relatives and investigators shows the Choates had a long history of involvement with child welfare authorities — but no one intervened in time to prevent Christian's death.

Child welfare authorities visited the family multiple times before 2009 and at least once temporarily placed some of the children in foster care, according to police investigators and relatives.

"We failed. We failed him," said Lavetta Sparks-Wade, who was head of the Lake County's Child Protective Services investigators until she retired in 2009.

Riley Choate won custody of Christian and an older sister, Christina, in 2005 after a yearlong court fight with the children's biological mother, Aimee Estrada, recalled Choate's attorney in the custody fight, George Galanos. A court-appointed guardian awarded Choate custody after interviews with both parents, the children and teachers, Galanos said.

"It was the happiest day of Riley's life. I find it hard to square what we're hearing today with what I know about Riley," Galanos said.

But by 2007, prosecutors say, Christian had been withdrawn from public school, endured daily beatings and was mostly confined to the cage, sometimes wearing nothing but a diaper, court records show. Investigators learned about Christian's death this month.

A day or two before Christian died in April 2009, Christina said, Christian refused to eat, and Riley Choate struck the then-13-year-old "full force several times in the front, side and back of his head before throwing him back in the cage." Two stepsisters said they later saw Christina hit Christian in the head with a metal pole.

Thank you for the pictures, LC.

Don't quite know what she's smiling about, that POS. Christian was subjected to a horrible life and died like an animal.

sadly i had a VERY long thread at 24 that was all the children dying in hot cars in the summer. i don't know how they forget a baby is in the car.

A three-year-old boy died after being locked in a car for at least eight hours by his babysitter.

Winston White was found dead inside the vehicle after temperatures inside the car were reported to have reached an astonishing 150 degrees.

Police said no windows were left open in the vehicle as it sat outside a home in blazing sunshine.

Genee Brumfield has been charged with negligent homicide after her three-year-old godson died. He was reportedly left in a car for eight hours in the heat with not even a window cracked.

She was supposed to drop the toddler off at his regular day care but instead made an unscheduled stop at her mothers.

The boy was left inside the vehicle with all the windows closed and doors locked.

'For some unknown reason, Brumfield decided to stop by her mother's home, leaving the 3-year-old inside the car with the windows up and the doors locked,' said police spokesman Marlon Defillo.

Defillo said it was eight hours before somebody realised what had happened.

Police said Brumfield's sister came out and discovered the boy.

He was unresponsive, and despite the efforts of paramedics could not be revived.

Leaving babies in cars and forgetting about them is something I will never understand either. It is murder in my mind. The disparity in filing criminal charges and consequences is unconscionable.

No, it's not. Most, if not all of those cases are NOT murder. Those parents don't intend for their kids to die in a hot car. That wasn't their plan as they began their day.

I don't know what kind of people many of you know but it must be the dregs of society for so many of you to be suspicious & condemning of damn near every friggin' person you come across.

this child is one of the lucky ones who survived. it's too damn bad these 2 will no doubt get the baby back from "relatives". and the guy was too hot in back of cruiser?? it's a lot hotter where they both will be going. Diablo

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Police were called to the Déjà Vu strip club Tuesday night after witnesses reported a one-year-old child left in a hot car.

When officers arrived they found a black Chevy Impala not running with a young child in the back seat crying and soaked in sweat, according to the arrest report.

According to police, as officers arrived in the parking lot, the child’s mother, Laura DiPrimo, ran out of the club, started the car and rolled down the rear window.

She was followed out by the child’s father, Thomas W. Lee, 28, who was wearing a home incarceration bracelet from Clark County, Ind.

DiPrimo and Lee both said they had been drinking, according to the arrest report.

The police report said it was 91 degrees outside when the child was discovered in the car. Witnesses said the child was in the car alone for 10 to 15 minutes. The child was examined by EMS.

DiPrimo and Lee are charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.

Police said Lee complained the back seat of the cruiser was hot as he was transported to jail.

Both suspects are currently being held on $5,000 full cash bonds.

Police said the child is doing fine and has been placed in the custody of a relative.

Seriously????? Come on. There is no fucking excuse to ever leave a cihld in a car. How the hell can you forget your child??? Especially when there have been so many stories in the news over the years about kids being left in hot cars and dying. No matter how rushed I was or late or anything, I have never forgotten that I had my child with me. It's murder. Period. I don't care if the parent is black, white, rich or poor. If you leave your child in the car you deserve the worst punishment possible.

I don't think that every case can be looked at in the same light. There's a tremendous difference between the parent who leaves the kid in the car while they are in the bar drinking & the dad who forgets his kid and goes into his workplace.

People are busy & overworked and shit happens. I feel bad for those who have genuinely forgotten their kid is in the car. Good people DO NOT intend to let their children die. Why can I see that & others can't?

I am sure good people don't intend for it to happen. But there is still no excuse. And yes there is a differnece between some idiot that forgets their kid and one that intentionally leaves their kid in the car. However, I cannot imagine ever ever ever forgetting my child in the car. And believe me as a single mother I have been stressed to the max and busy and late and in a hurry and have never fogotten my child.

I get it.

Kinda like good people talking or texting and then killing someone, while behind the wheel. Hey! It's not like they were drunk!

But I come from the state with the most child pool-drownings in the country. I believe we're at or over 10 deaths, in the past two months.

Both a driver's license and a child come with responsibilities. If you have either, you agree to be responsible or face consequences.

Good or bad person, intended or not . . . if a child dies on your watch, YOU are responsible.

I'm not saying that they are not responsible, I'm saying you can't look at every case in the same light and I don't think they all qualify as murder. Some people reading this want every instance of death to carry a murder charge and I don't see it as that at all.

I do understand your point (not all deaths are murder) and I agree.

However, there seems to be a disconnect regarding childrens' deaths and charges against parents.

Adam Baker comes to mind, right about . . . now.

I believe you to be caring and conscientious. I believe you to be a person of substance and responsibility. And I also believe that you hold parenting as a sacred vocation.

But I don't believe you would ever leave your child in a hot car or unattended around water . . . because you were busy or overworked.

Busy and overworked is a choice or condition from and by lifestyle decisions made by adults (parents).

If life becomes so hectic that it endangers the welfare of your child, it is your responsibility realign your priorities.

Heck . . . I'll bet your friends and associates would tell tales of your self-sacrifice for the benefit of your animals.

You know it's true.

I do. I think it's the most important "job" there is and I'm disgusted that there are no qualifications in order to do it. So many people just don't know or even give a rip about the awesome blessing they have and hold it in little to no regard..*sigh* bah, sorry I'm even thinking about it now.
