Rampant Abuse and Murders of Children
Update to posts #495 - 497

The 'family friend' and monster who abducted, raped, and killed 1-year-old Shaylyn Ammerman in Indiana last March took a plea deal and avoided trial.

Kyle Parker, 23 (pictured right), reached a deal with prosecutors to enter guilty pleas on one count each of murder and kidnapping. Because the rape charge was dropped in exchange, he didn't plead guilty to a sex offense and thus won't have to register as a sex offender.

Shaylyn (pictured left) went missing from her father's home overnight, sparking an intense manhunt. When her body was finally found, apparently dumped miles away near the bank of a river, the small community of Spencer was outraged and some called for the death penalty.

Instead, he will serve 60 years in prison. With good behavior, that time could eventually drop to 45 years. Parker would be 68 years old by the time he could conceivably first be eligible for release.

Two years ago, John Jonchuck threw his beautiful 5-year-old daughter Phoebe Jonchuck off the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in St Petersburg, Florida.

He had just left a meeting with his custody attorney and was acting erratically.

He is charged with first degree murder, but was found incompetent and has been held in a Gainsville mental facility for the past 25 months where he's been taking medication.

Late last week, the judge declared him competent to stand trial. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty and hoping for a Fall 2017 trial. Jonchuck will remain at the Gainsville mental facility until trial to ensure that he continues taking his meds and remains competent.

12-Year-Old Brutally Murdered in Nashville

[Image: 4445B9FE00000578-0-image-m-22_1505399949125.jpg]
^ 12-year-old Yhoana Arteaga was active, kind, and smart according to those who knew her. RIP.

She lived in a mobile home in Nashville with her mom and siblings.

Yhoana was home on crutches recovering from a skating injury on August 10th. She texted her mom that someone was at the door. An hour later, her mom got home to find Yhoana brutally beaten, clothing in disarray and strangled to death. :(

Police noted that there were no signs of forced entry and figured early on that Yhoana knew her killer.

Yesterday a suspect was charged in Yhoana's murder. ^ Roy Coons Jr., 45, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder, two counts of felony first-degree felony murder, attempted rape of a child, and especially aggravated burglary. He is being held without bond.

Neighbors say Coons lives in the mobile home community for about a decade. Coons cut grass and washed cars in the community and lived two doors down from Yhoana's family.

"The murder of Yhoana Arteaga was shocking to this community, including members of this police department," Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson said. "This afternoon, we have been able to bring about relief to the Old Dickerson Pike neighborhood and Nashville as a whole."

Police said Coons has been convicted of more than 30 offenses since 1992. He was last convicted on drug and gun charges in January 2016. He received an eight-year probated sentence.

Too bad Coons wasn't behind bars instead of on probation. If he's the guy, I hope the cowardly predator never walks free again.

HotD, you 'hope he never walks again?'

The guy murdered a 12 year old girl that couldn't move.

Probably sexually assaulted her too, then strangled her.

That's gotta be one of the worst ways to go.

This guy should burn at the stake, drown or fed to the lions.

It's okay to express a little rage when shit like this happens.

I agree MS. Targeting, sexually assaulting and murdering a child -- in this case, one who was disabled at the time -- is as weak and sick as it gets.

Right now, I mostly feel sad for Yhoana's family and friends and the loss of her life, especially in such a terrible and brutal way.

I also feel extreme disdain for Coons and want him to pay big time, if he's the rapist/killer. I'm waiting to hear the evidence against him.

He was charged with premeditated and aggravated crimes, so he may face a capital trial if the evidence against him is strong.

If Coons is determined to be guilty, it's possible he could fry on Old Sparky. Tennessee is one of the states that recognizes the electric chair as a legal form of execution when lethal injection drugs are unavailable or if the death row inmate chooses the chair.

Some more details on the murder of 12-year Yhoana Arteaga, posts 527 - 530.

[Image: Schermata-2017-08-20-alle-09.19.01-415x233.png]

Metropolitan Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron says 45-year-old Roy D. Coons was arrested Monday after a Davidson County grand jury indicted him on two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of first-degree premeditated murder, attempted rape of a child and aggravated burglary.

Aaron says Coons lived two doors away from Yhoana Arteaga ^. The girl was last seen Aug. 12, when she had lunch with her mother around 12:30 p.m.

Her body was found inside her family's mobile home in Goodlettsville by her mother and two siblings, slightly over an hour after she texted her mother around 5:30 p.m. that someone was knocking at the door.

Police said there was blunt force trauma to her body and her clothing was in disarray. The autopsy shows that she was strangled to death.

"This is a horrible, brutal thing. I've never seen anything this brutal in my entire career," Nashville Sgt. David Kautzman said afer the slaying.

Police tell WTVF scientific evidence links Coons to the murder

I'm anxious to hear the details of the scientific evidence against Coons - hope it's solid. In the meantime, he's not going anywhere. He's being held at Hill Detention Center in Nashville.

Only 10 effin' years?

[Image: 44F8B43000000578-4934706-image-a-97_1506976544078.jpg]

A New Jersey man who killed his 3-year-old son because the boy was getting in the way of his relationship with a teenage girlfriend has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

After a mistrial in his first prosecution, David 'DJ' Creato, 23, pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in August.

He admitted that he 'recklessly caused his son's death under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life by depriving Brendan of oxygen.'

Prosecutors say Creato killed his son out of concern that his then-17-year-old girlfriend was going to leave him while she was away at college, because she did not like spending time with the toddler.

She was never charged in the boy's death, and the couple have since broken up.

Creato initially maintained his son wandered away from his Haddon Township home on October 13, 2015. The father called 911 around 6am to report the toddler missing.

A medical examiner had testified in the first trial that Brendan died from 'homicidal violence' but couldn't determine where or when the death had occurred.

Brendan's brain showed an abnormality consistent with oxygen deprivation that can be caused by asphyxiation, drowning or strangulation, but it couldn't be determined which of those led to his death. RIP Brendan Creato.

Creato, dressed in a red prison garb, wore a blank expression on his face when his sentence was announced. He could be released from prison on parole within six years and nine months, having received credit for 628 days served in jail.

Fucking travesty of justice. This puke will be ~30 years old when he gets out. His whole life ahead of him, and plenty of time to reproduce. Someone should "deprive him of oxygen" the way he did his son. Sickening.

^ Good to read that this suspect was located in Philadelphia and arrested early this morning. He'd gone off the radar and was the subject of a nationwide manhunt for almost 3 weeks.

Joshua Gurto, 37, was apprehended at a Sheetz gas station at around 1 a.m. He was arrested on charges of rape and murder.

^ This is his victim, 1-year-old Serenity Blankenship-Sutley. Rest in peace.

Like so many of these sickening crimes, Gurto gained access to the baby by dating her mom. Mom is not suspected of any involvement.

Cheyanne Renae Harris, 20, and Zachary Paul Koehn, 28, were arrested Wednesday on charges of first-degree murder and child endangerment.

Their son, Sterling Daniel Koehn, was found dead Aug. 30 after Koehn called 911 requesting an ambulance to the couple's Alta Vista apartment, court records show.

When Chickasaw County sheriff's deputies and medics arrived, they found the deceased boy sitting in a powered swing in a bedroom separate from where Koehn, Harris and their older child slept, according to criminal complaints filed in court against the couple.

An autopsy of the baby's body revealed "maggots in various stages of development in his clothing and on his skin," court records show.

A forensic entomologist studied the maggots to determine that Sterling had not been removed from the baby swing for more than a week and that he had not had a diaper change or bath in that time, court records show. Poor baby.

The State Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide, and the cause of death was failure to provide critical care.

Court records indicate the couple had a history of meth use (unsurprisingly), but no serious previous run-ins with the law.

Harris and Koehn were each jailed in Chickasaw County on $100,000 cash-only bond. Their preliminary court hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 2.

The couple also has an older child who is reportedly safe and fine.
