No doubt. I think HotD posted up thread that the positives may outweigh the negatives (by some thinking heads) by 1%. I tend to think it's a little higher but that's just me.
Anywho....I'm not suggesting we keep all 11 million. The current administration was pretty aggressively deporting the criminals...until they weren't. I'm all for booting out anyone arrested for criminal activity (beyond the fact that just being here is illegal) but...all of them? Can we keep, I dunno, 6-7 million?
I imagine the slave owners tried to negotiate that..."Fine, I'll free half my negroes, but I need the other half to keep pickin' that there cotton, dammit".
