And a whore for Trump's support during his Presidential run.

Ryan, too, is an establishment hack.

Big money and a political machine buys loyalty on both sides of the aisle.

And that, in my opinion, is the root of all of our government evils.

My feelings around this election and even politics in general are becoming more and more apathetic.

I found some random article (link follows) that stated back in September:

A CBS News poll reported by the New York Times found that 84 percent of Americans believe money has too much influence in political campaigns....

It went on to say that Republicans voted unanimously against some fairly simple amendment that basically would have overturned/reformed Citizen's United.

This article offers differing opinions on campaign finance reform with some saying that making it easier to donate and throw more money at a candidate is actually more democratic and better for "the people". I disagree but it's interesting to read a different perspective regardless:

Heh-heh....just stumbled on Stephen Colbert's old "Making a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow" Super Pac site. Shame it died.

Dear Super Loved Ones,

I write this letter with a heavy heart and elevated cholesterol. Earlier today, our advisor and chief strategist, Ham Rove, passed away. Authorities believe he repeatedly tripped and fell onto a knife several dozen times. Later some dogs ate him. It was all quite tragic.

When it comes to describing how important Ham Rove was to Colbert Super PAC, I find myself at a loss for unsubpoenaed words. Ham Rove did everything for this organization, particularly any of the things that an angry donor or federal official might want answers to.

Due to Ham Rove's timely passing, I am announcing that Colbert Super PAC is shutting down effective immediately. During this time of mourning, we ask that you respect our privacy, and more importantly, the privacy of our money. It wishes to stay out of the public eye, so please don't go trying to find it. Rest assured, you won't. We have a really good lawyer.

I am a man of faith. I believe that Ham Rove in a better place now... and so is the money. I hope you have faith as well, because that's all you're ever going to know for sure.

Anyway, Trump, Clinton and Sanders have all talked about campaign finance reform with Trump and Sanders being the only two who have no affiliated SuperPacs.

Sanders....if he weren't so left of left, I might actually believe he'd make an effort. Clinton has made some claims about reform and also made some statements that seemed to indicate that her commitment to the issue is less than firm and she may well do little or nothing about it (like Obama).

Trump????? Like everything else associated with his campaign, he's promising reform and says the system is "bad". However, like everything else, he just sort of says he's going to fix it without offering up any real plans about how he hopes to accomplish that.

I think it's a fantasy on my part....like Charlie, Lucy and the football. I don't know if I'll even bother voting this election.
