You might be right. If Kasich is still in the race, I think he might have a slight advantage though (and not because of the Arnold endorsement!).
I don't think Cruz could win California; not enough evangelicals.
About 1⁄4 of the state is Independent and can't vote in the primaries unless they commit to a party though, so that could work a bit against both Kasich and Trump who I believe appeal more to Independents than does Cruz.
Anyway, though California awards the most delegates of any state, we haven't been a very important state in the nomination process because our primaries don't go down until June, and usually the top candidates from each party have all but secured the required number of delegates by then. Not likely this time.
It's looking like the 2016 Republican primaries in California could be key in deciding the party's nominee, for the first time that I can remember.
