THE MURDER OF ALICE GROSS, 14 - London, England
#1

^ This is Alice. RIP. Her body was found in London's River Brent yesterday, less than 3 miles from her home and near where she she was last seen just over a month ago.

Investigators have not located Alice's iPhone which lost power about an hour before she disappeared.

^ Alice was last seen, captured on CCTV walking over the Grand Union Canal, on August 28 and 4:26 p.m.

15 minutes later, a man on a bike is captured by CCTV riding in the same direction. Turns out, the man on the bike is a convicted murderer. He's from Latvia and his name is Arnis Zalkalns. He is the prime suspect in the disappearance and murder of Alice Gross.

^ Suspect Zalkalns, 41, murdered his wife in Latvia 17 years ago. He lured his wife into the woods, beat her head in, and stabbed her to death with knives that he had crafted. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Zalkalns served 7 years in prison for the murder before being released.

At the time of Alice's disappearance, he lived in Ealing (East London) with his girlfriend and their baby. He disappeared without a trace seven days after Alice went missing and Scotland Yard is conducting an international manhunt to track him down. He's not used his phone or any bank cards since he fell off the map. His sister says she thinks the guilt over killing his wife overcame him and he's killed himself.

It pisses me off that Zalkalns served so little time for a brutal murder and then was free to move to another country and (allegedly) strike again.

Very sad day for Alice's parents who had been holding out hope that she would be found alive.

Seven years for a murder. What the hell is that. It's nothing more than a slap on the wrist. WTF. He should have been locked away forever.

SUSPECT'S BODY FOUND?

Looks like the asshole killed himself as his sister surmised, but that's not confirmed yet.

(Earlier today) police searching for Arnis Zalkalns, the man suspected of killing Alice Gross, have found the body of a man in dense woodland in west London. The body was found in Boston Manor Park, near Hanwell, police said.

A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive; it's still not clear how Alice was killed. But, British Prime Minister Cameron released a statement saying, "I will examine all the circumstances of the case" surrounding the murder of Alice. He described it as a "horrific case", and said: "Anyone with a daughter will have just felt sickened by what has happened and what that poor family has had to go through."
