THE NEW CRAIGSLIST KILLERS
#21
Duchess thats the way most of the bad guys I have known thought, some good guys too.
I see it as a tool, one that I have to be proficient with, just like the ones in the roll around in the garage.
I gon't feel like a bad ass with a screwdriver or a ratchet in my hand. Impact Wrench, maybe...

I don't know if the victim advertised his truck for sale on Craigslist or by some other means, but this story fits the "lured to death" theme of this thread.

1 Man Murdered for $300, SWAT Stand-off, 1 Suspect Arrested, 1 Suspect Hanged Self, 2 Suspects on the Loose...

HOUSTON – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has charged three people with capital murder in connection with the stabbing death of a Pasadena man who was found buried in a shallow grave over the weekend.

Harris County investigators found the body of 41-year-old Jesus Leal Valdez buried two feet under a chicken coop near a home in the 5200 block of Mohawk Street on Jan 11. They searched the home after they received an anonymous call to 911.

Valdez’s family had reported him missing on Dec. 31. The father of three disappeared on New Year’s Eve after leaving out to show a woman the truck he was selling.

Investigators said Veronica Muniz, 27, was captured on surveillance cameras at several locations using Valdez’s debit card.

Jesus Valdez, murder victim and father of 3 - RIP. Veronica Muniz, accused murderer.

Muniz was arrested Wednesday after a 2.5 hour SWAT standoff at an apartment complex in Texas City. Police said another suspect who was in the apartment hanged himself inside a closet. A spokesman for the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Steven Amado Osuna, 29, of Houston.

Muniz was booked into the Harris County jail on capital murder charges. No bond has been set.

As she appeared before a judge Thursday morning more details were revealed about the crime. A prosecutor said Muniz admitted that she called Valdez from her cell phone and asked to meet him for the sale of a car, knowing that was not the true purpose. After the pair met, Valdez was beaten, stabbed to death and robbed of $300. Then he was buried and his vehicle was cut into pieces with a blow torch.

Investigators said two other people were involved in the killing of Valdez.

Marcelino Osuna, 25, and 30-year-old Richard Osuna, who are brothers, are also charged with capital murder. They both remained at large Thursday.

Police are asking anyone with information on the brother’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).

Yep, moronic and depraved.

And, two of the murdering assholes are still at large. If they'd lure and kill a man for so little, what would they do to evade apprehension and a possible life sentence or death penalty?

Hoping they're caught without adding to their body count.

Its obvious they are highly dangerous and would probably kill someone for a cup of pennies.

The confessed Killers - Miranda and Elytte Barbour

Update on OP story - Is Miranda Barbour a Serial Killer?

The murderous newlyweds are both facing the death penalty for the killing of Troy LaFerrara, 42 in Pennsylvania late last year. The couple had lured him to his death when he answered Miranda's ad offering "companionship".

Originally, Miranda claimed that LaFerrara tried to grope her and assault her and that's why he was killed. Now, she says she was planning to spare his life, until he failed her test. She had agreed to have sex with him for $100 and then told him she was only sixteen. According to her, LaFerrara said that her age didn't matter to him and that sealed his fate.

On Friday, she gave an interview to a local newspaper. In it, she claims to have killed over 20 other people across the country as part of her involvement in a satanic cult. She says she only killed "bad people" though.

"When I hit 22 (murder victims), I stopped counting," 19-year-old Miranda Barbour told the Sunbury, Pa., Daily Item newspaper in a chilling jailhouse interview Friday.

"I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them," she boasted. "I remember everything. It is like watching a movie." She says LaFerrara was the first victim of her new husband Elytte.

Mirand Barbour says she plans to plead guilty to LaFerrara's murder and that she shouldn't be let out because she'd go right back to killing.

Police had been investigating Miranda Barbour's possible involvement in other killings before her jailhouse interview. It remains to be seen whether she's lying about being a serial killer or not.

Fortunately, they're off the street and in police custody now.

Marcelino Osuna, his brother Richard Osuna, and Veronica Muniz are all charged with capital murder in the death of Jesus Valdez.

In court last month, a prosecutor said Muniz admitted that she, along with several other co-defendants, all conspired to call Valdez, lure him to a meeting on the premise that they wanted to buy a car, and then rob him and hold him for ransom from his family.

When Valdez showed up, the suspects stabbed Valdez to death and robbed him of $300. Valdez was then buried in the back yard of that residence, and his vehicle was cut up with a blowtorch.

Heartless animals.

MR. HANDCUFFS -- MISOGYNIST EX-COP -- AND SUSPECTED KILLER

[Image: article-2670693-1F29729C00000578-849_634x365.jpg]
Steven Zelich ^, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of “Hiding a Corpse.”

Authorities say Zelich, a 52-year-old security guard and former police officer from West Allis, Wis., met his victims online, bound and killed them and kept their bodies for months, either in his vehicle or his home, though he has not yet been charged in their deaths. The bodies of the two women were stuffed into suitcases and found in a ditch along a rural Wisconsin highway.

[Image: town-of-geneva-bodies.jpg?w=370&h=204&crop=1]
According to the complaint, one of the victims, later identified as 37-year-old Laura Simonson (pictured above with the unidentified second victim), was found with a rope wrapped around her neck, a ball gag strapped into her mouth, and a collar around her neck. Laura was the mother of seven children and had a lifelong history of mental illness. Her father says she advertised as an escort on Craigslist and her children were placed in foster care.

Zelich had posted at a fetish site called "CollarMe" looking for a woman for “perm enslavement,” which he clarifies as “no limit enslavement, imprisonment, captivity, animalization..ideally in a farm/caged situation.”

While she was missing, one of Laura Simonson's friends went on a site where Zelich bragged about his exploits and posted this:

Now that they've got their suspect in custody, I'm hoping Wisconsin PD can get enough outta him to charge him with the murders. POS.

Not just women, men too, like the one in the thread OP.

Lots of reasons, none of them good -- stupidity, desperation, sense of invincibility, mental illness...

Mr. Handcuffs looks like an effin' creepy dickshine. I don't like his smug-ass face!

Though I know that's not valid evidence of his guilt, I personally have no doubt that he killed those messed-up women and I don't care if they initially walked into his S&M lure willingly. He's a violent predator and a murderer and I hope he finds himself the one locked in a cage (for the rest of his life).

He's going to have a great time in lock up. The only thing better than fresh fish is a fresh fish cop. The son of a bitch will get everything he has coming on a daily basis.

I hope so, Gunnar, but that's not a given. He may end up being in protected status or being respected among the inmates if he's charged and convicted. Hard to tell.

So, the second victim whose body was found in a suitcase has now been identified as 19-year-old Jenny Gamez (pictured above). She doesn't look much like the sketch PD has previously circulated, but then they only had a badly decomposed body with which to work.

Jenny hadn't been reported missing by anyone. She had been in foster care since she was five, struggled with giving up her baby to the father as a teen, and seemed to be a free-spirit floating from place to place and hanging out with friends.

Apparently dickshine Zelich is talking while in custody; probably more like bragging and taunting. He reportedly confessed to killing Jenny back in 2012.

His attorney contends that both women might have died accidentally in acts of consensual sex with Zelich. Bullshit. I think police are getting closer to proving otherwise and will charge him with the homicides soon.

RIP Laura Simonson and Jenny Gamez.

CRAIGSLIST COMMUNICATION LEADS POLICE TO DOUBLE MURDER AND SUICIDE

^ The killer: 31-year-old Brady Oestrike (committed suicide)

[Image: brooke-slocum-and-charles-oppenneerjpg-1...e19384.jpg]
^ The victims: Brooke Ann Slocum, 18 and boyfriend Charles Gerard Oppenneer, 25. RIP.

WYOMING, MI -- An 18-year-old pregnant teen had communicated on Craigslist last Saturday with a person police now believe is responsible for killing her, her 25-year-old boyfriend and their unborn child.

Wyoming Police Chief James Carmody said police tracked down 31-year-old Brady Oestrike after examining the computer of victim Brooke Slocum.

Police had been looking for Slocum ever since they found the body of Slocum's boyfriend, 25-year-old Charlie Oppenneer, near Gezon Park on Wednesday afternoon. His car had been abandoned near a wooded area where the body was discovered.

Carmody would not say how Slocum and Oppenneer died.

Oestrike committed suicide after leading police on a chase late Thursday, July 17. A yellow Chevy Cobalt he was driving crashed into a barrier along the on-ramp to U.S. 131 at Burton Street. Police say it appears he died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Police found Slocum's pregnant body in the Oestrike's trunk after the crash.

Carmody said police are trying to figure out a motive for the killings and would not reveal how the couple had been killed.

He said an examination of Slocum's computer showed she had contact with Oestrike just before midnight on Saturday, July 12.

Carmody urged people to be extremely cautious when speaking with people using online sales sites. It's not clear if Slocum and Oestrike had communicated before Saturday's online connection on Craiglist.

Police did not specify what Oestrike and Slocum were connecting about on Craigslist.

Smiley_emoticons_smile Yeah, but not a bad George Castanza impersonation.

So, turns out Bad Kano Castanza (aka Brady Oestrike) cut off the head of the male victim (Charles Oppenneer) and police can't find it. Oppenneer's head wasn't in the trunk of his car with the body of Oppenneer's pregnant girlfriend (Brooke Slocum) when Bad Kano offed himself.

Today, the police chief of Wyoming, Michigan released more details in the case.

-Slocum was held captive before she was strangled to death and stuffed into the trunk of Bad Kano's car.

-Slocum, 8 months pregnant at the time, and Bad Kano met on Craiglist and set a hook up time and place for some sort of sexual activitiy -- Slocum's boyfriend was supposed to be present and watch the encounter.

-Police said they plan to keep investigating to see if there were any other people involved in the killings.

-Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw also told CBS affiliate WMMT that he has contacted Wyoming, Michigan, police to investigate any links that may be evident between this case and the one of Jessica Herringa.
(Jessica Heeringa thread: http://mockforums.net/showthread.php?tid...a+Heeringa )

Heeringa, who was 26 at the time, disappeared April 26, 2013, while at her job at an Exxon gas station in Norton Shores, Michigan.

According to the Muskegon Chronicle, authorities say that reaching out to other counties is "common investigative practice" and does not mean there is a definite connection between the incidents.

FOLLOW UP TO OP, POST 1: HONEYMOON KILLERS PLEAD GUILTY TO SECOND DEGREE MURDER

Murderers Elliott and Miranda Barbour and victim Troy LaFerrara (center)

The assholes pleaded guilty yesterday and will do mandatory life sentences without the possibility of parole.

I'm glad. The victim's family didn't want to go through years and years of trials and appeals in order for the state of Pennsylvania to pursue the death penalty in a capital murder case.

Those claims that Miranda Barbour made to media a couple of months back -- about being a serial killer who'd murdered upwards of twenty men (she's 19) -- were unsubstantiated by police investigation.

The truth is much simpler -- Miranda Barbour lured the victim with a Craigslist ad promising sex. Then, she and her new husband robbed him. They killed him because they wanted to see how it felt.

Freaks who will never see the outside of a prison environment again and fade into obscurity.

Craigslist Killers Quantified

Law Street just published the first report on murders connected to Craigslist-driven interactions.

There have been a lot of them; more than I'd thought.

Since Philip Markoff was labeled the first "Craigslist Killer" back in 2009:

- 58 murderers and 45 murder victims have been officially connected to Craigslist postings through June 2014 (some of the murders involved multiple perpetrators against a single victim).

- 22 Craigslist murder cases are still pending.

- The oldest pending case dates to 2012, and eight are from 2014, indications that the killings continue.

Reading through the slide show recap of Craigslist killings, most of the killers lured their victims with ads to sell an iPhone, a vehicle, or "companionship" with the actual intent to rob and/or kill.

Here's the slide show and crime summaries: http://lawstreetmedia.com/blogs/crime/ki...raigslist/
