THE NEW CRAIGSLIST KILLERS

Georgia Couple -- Mustang Murder

THE VICTIMS: Elrey "Bud" Runion posted an ad on Craigslist seeking to buy a piece of his youth, a replica of the 1966 Ford Mustang convertible he bought after returning from the Vietnam War decades ago.

Last Thursday, a potential seller drew Bud and his wife to a small farming town in southern Georgia. The couple hadn't been heard from since. On Monday, authorities found the couple's SUV and then discovered the body of Bud, 69, and his 66-year-old wife June. Both had been shot in the head.

The Runions were well-loved for helping out the homeless and others in need by providing bicycles, clothing, food, etc... They appear to have been salt of the earth kinda people.

THE SUSPECT: ^ Ronnie Adrian "Jay" Towns, 28, of McRae, was charged yesterday with malice murder and armed robbery. He's been denied bond.

Towns is the man who replied to Bud's Craigslist ad and lured the couple to him with the claim that he had the Mustang they were seeking. Towns has a wife and a young daughter. His family helped persuade him to turn himself in to authorities Monday. According to his uncle, he's a nice and smart guy; the family is stunned that he would be charged in connection with the Runions' disappearance.

How does someone get to the point of saying to themselves, "I'm willing to murder 2 people."

The guy has a child a wife and certainly can't think that he'd get away with this crime. Not when people's computer activity is so easily tracked.

Hope he gets the electric chair.

Yes, lovely, kind people. It's horrible what happened to them. Every time I read these stories I feel like it's only the wonderful people who are murdered in a violent way. I must be oblivious to all the bad people who die in the same manner. I want everyone to get exactly what they deserve in life, damnit.

^ Bria Corrine-Janelle Blackmon - 20, is accused of killing Michael Scott Freeland -57.

She met him on Craigslist and established a relationship with the man. Then, she visited him at his home where she killed him while attempting to rob him on March 27, according to police.

It's been a while since we had an epic serial killer in the news. One has to wonder if the allure has lost it's luster from the media.

I don't know, if he did do the things he's accused of that Durst character seems like he might fit the bill.

Nah, he's a sociopath with asbergers that killed to keep from getting caught. Serial killers are a much different breed than that.

He is a sociopath, so he's got that going for him. Maybe he'll make the serial killer grade yet!

^ David Messerchmidt found himself in a mess of shit with his Craigslist solicitation. Now he's dead. RIP.

Jamyra Gallmon, 21, (top right) and her girlfriend, Dominique Johnson, 19, (bottom right) pleaded guilty to charges in the murder of David Messerschmitt, who was killed in a Washington DC hotel in February.

Messerschmidt (pictured with his wife above) was a married lawyer who had gone to the hotel after Gallmon responded to his Craigslist ad soliciting for gay sex.

He was found stabbed in the abdomen, groin and heart and had defensive wounds to his hands, according to court documents. A computer, condoms, lubricant and an enema were found in his room.

Gallmon had pretended to be a man, with the intention of robbing him. He fought back and she killed him. Her take? $40.00. Cops tracked the killer down from hotel surveillance and computer exchanges.

The women will be sentenced on August 14. Gallmon faces between 18 and 25 years in prison while Johnson faces five years.

I sure hope Messerschmidt's wife knew he was gay beforehand. It would truly suck to find out that her husband was gay at the same time she found out he was murdered.

UPDATE -- DEATH PENALTY SOUGHT:

The prosecution is seeking the death penalty against ^ Ronnie Jay Towns in the murder of 69-year-old Elrey "Bud" Runion and his 66-year-old wife, June, according to Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Tim Vaughn.

Vaughn filed the notice Monday. The motions lists the reasons why the state is seeking the death penalty, including "the offense of murder and armed robbery was outrageously or wantonly vile, horrible, or inhuman in that it involved torture, depravity of mind, or an aggravated battery to the victim."

Towns' arraignment was set for Thursday. It had to be rescheduled because the state is seeking the death penalty. No word on when it will be held.

Missouri Gun Sell Goes Wrong

[Image: 32E8FE3500000578-3526973-image-a-102_1459973200874.jpg]

A 10-year-old girl ^ watched in horror as her father, an automotive specialist and gun enthusiast, was gunned down in a Craigslist gun deal gone wrong in Kansas City on Sunday.

The incident happened around 8:30pm, when 39-year-old Jake Brantner (pictured above) agreed to meet a person who responded to his gun-for-sale ad.

Witnesses say that the suspect shot Brantner when the innocent man was still holding a gun, and that Brantner may have even shot back after being fired upon.

At the time of the shooting, the parking lot was busy and filled with cars from Kansas City Royals spectators who made the walk over to Kauffman Stadium.

An off-duty police officer who was working in the nearby Price Chopper heard the gunshots and immediately responded to the scene.

After the shooting, a witness ran over to Brantner's car and tried to help his little girl.

The girl was physically unharmed, though she's probably pretty traumatized. Poor kid.

The suspect fled the scene after fatally shooting Brantner and remains at large. I hope police can track him down soon.

Fatal Florida Dirt-bike Transaction

I feel so sad for 15-year-old Stuart Beck. He watched his father get shot to death on Tuesday night.

[Image: 3CC4C87000000578-4184764-image-a-79_1486061554993.jpg]
Stuart's dad, ^ 44-year-old James Beck, had placed an ad on Craigslist. He was selling a Kawasaki dirt-bike for $1,000.

A pair of teen boys responded to the ad and arranged to meet James and Stuart in East Tampa at North 18th Street and East 24th Avenue.

Police say the Becks quickly realized they were going to be robbed. As the Becks were attempting to leave, 17-year-old Dontae Johnson allegedly shot James Beck. Meanwhile, Johnson's friend, 16-year-old Ramontrae Williams is said to have stolen the bike.

Neighbors heard the gunshots and helped Beck's 15-year-old son Stuart try to save his father, but there was nothing they could do. Stuart provided police with information and they quickly tracked down the killers and recovered the bike.

^ Williams, 16, left, was arrested Wednesday evening and charged him with first-degree murder and robbery. Johnson, 17, right, faces similar charges.

RIP James Beck.

The Tampa Police Department allows people to use its lobbies for safe Craigslist transactions. This tragedy may have been avoidable.

We should give out drugs for free, no reason to steal or rob and you can die if you want, who cares? And no more Billions of dollars going to drug cartels.
