RE: ANOTHER PUBLIC SHOOTING

Well, unsurprisingly, the Nashville Waffle House shooter had a history of disturbing incidents.

Metro Nashville Police say the suspect in Sunday morning's shooting at the Waffle House had his guns confiscated last year after being caught inside a restricted area at the White House.

Law enforcement in Tazewell County, Ill., confiscated four guns at the time but returned them to his father. His father admits that he recently gave them back to Reinking.

Law enforcement confirmed that Reinking used an AR-15 rifle to kill four people and wound two others at the Waffle House this morning.

Reinking recently relocated from Illinois to Tennessee where he was working construction. It's unknown if he had any connection to the four people he killed today.

Travis Reinking, 29, is still at large, and police warn that he still may have two guns in his possession. Police believe he fled on foot and remains shirtless but is now wearing pants.

RE: ANOTHER PUBLIC SHOOTING

The Nashville Waffle House shooter is still on the loose and the emerging story of his background makes the shooting even more frustrating.

In 2016, his family called police because Travis Reinking was delusional and believed that Taylor Swift was stalking him by hacking into his Netflix account. He also claimed that Swift was following him and arranged to meet him at the Dairy Queen.

But, he said he had to chase her to a rooftop (where she disappeared) when he got there because she yelled at him from across the street and ran off. He was taken for mental evaluation against his will, but apparently was able to keep his guns in Illinois and was not flagged in NICS.

In 2017, Reinking was arrested in DC for trying to infiltrate the White House to get to President Trump as a 'sovereign citizen'. He was given community service, his guns were confiscated and turned over to his father by Illinois LE, and the charges were dropped after he completed a diversion program. His father recently returned the guns to Reinking.

His father has some explaining to do. Why did he return the guns, one of which (AR-15) was used to kill four people, to his obviously very disturbed son?

Nashville Waffle House Shooter Apprehended

Earlier today, construction workers told officers they spotted a person matching the suspect's description walking through a wooded area near their site.

Police responded and arrested Travis Reinking. Reinking was carrying a black backpack that held a silver semi-automatic weapon and .45-caliber ammunition.

Police spokesman Don Aaron said Reinking requested a lawyer, was taken to a hospital and would later be booked on four counts of criminal homicide.

A federal official says the father of the man suspected of fatally shooting four at a Nashville Waffle House could face charges for returning guns that were taken from him after an incident last year at the White House.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent Marcus Watson said at a news conference Monday that Jeffrey Reinking's act of returning the guns to his son is "potentially a violation of federal law."

Suspect Travis Reinking pulled up to the eatery in his pickup truck and waited several minutes before fatally shooting Taurean Sanderlin -29, a Waffle House employee, who was outside the restaurant.

He then gunned down 20-year-old Joe Perez, a beloved brother and son, with his AR-15 rifle outside the restaurant.

Inside, he shot and killed 21-year-old DeEbony Groves, a senior majoring in social work at Belmont University, and 23-year-old Akilah Dasilva, a student pursuing a career in musical engineering at Middle Tennessee State University.

Another senseless loss of young lives. Rest in Peace.

Two other shooting vicitims remain hospitalized, one is reportedly in stable condition and the other is in critical condition.

It's state law in Tennessee that all defendants, except those charged with capital (death penalty) crimes, are entitled to bond.

Reinking may well end up facing the death penalty, but it's too early for prosecutors to make that determination now.

I understand the bond was set at $2million; Reinking would need to come up with $200,000 to qualify for release.

However, even if he did somehow manage to get someone to fork over that much money and be responsible for his release...........I think the prosecution would simply use more evidence to compel the judge to raise the bond even higher.

I don't think there's any chance that Reinking is going anywhere, but understand why people are outraged that it's even a possibility.

James Shaw Jr., 29, ^ is the hero of the day. He tackled and wrestled the semi-automatic rifle away from a near-naked man who killed four people at a Nashville-are Waffle House early this morning.

The word hero gets thrown around a lot these days but that man is a true hero. He risked his life to save others. If it wasn't for him many more would have died.

A journalist started a GoFundMe account for him, it will pay for his daughter's education. The goal is $60 grand. In 12 hours time $57,661 has been raised.

A very humble man, I heard him speaking yesterday. A religious guy that just did the right thing.

Yeah, I agree.

You can tell from his interviews that James Shaw is still very shaken up by what he saw and went through at the Waffle House, very understandably.

And, he's honest about the fact that he was just focused on stopping the shooter so he could live -- it all happened so fast. Then, he started focusing on others.

He doesn't consider himself a hero, but James Shaw definitely saved lives with his heroic actions.

When he saw an opportunity to tackle Reinking, he took it and scuffled with the gunman for a minute or two before getting the AR15 away, holding it up in the air, and throwing it as far as he could away from Reinking (who then took off running), he said.

I read that Shaw's visited the victims in the hospital, raised money for them, and ^ spoke at a victims' vigil today with his 4-year-old daughter. She's a cutie.

His hand is burned from grabbing the barrel of the gun. So brave. I can't even really imagine being in that situation. I'm afraid I would be frozen in fear.

The judge in the Tennessee Waffle House shooting case waived standard protocol and revoked the shooter's bond today, in response to the court being inundated with calls from outraged members of the public.

Illinois School Shooting

[Image: 4C54013500000578-0-image-a-4_1526541162116.jpg]

Matthew A. Milby, 19, of Dixon has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated discharge at a school employee and aggravated discharge at a school building.

Milby was shot in the shoulder by a police officer after firing shots in an Illinois high school hallway. Milby had recently been kicked off the football team for smoking pot.

When he opened fire yesterday, seniors were gathering near the gym to take part in a rehearsal for graduation.

Milby remains hospitalized with what authorities describe as non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, Milby was the only person shot in the incident.

Teachers and students barricaded themselves in classrooms when the shots rung out and the school resource officer, Mark Dallas, immediately rushed towards the shooter. Officer Dallas has been hailed as a hero.

Milby's mother said she is grateful that Officer Dallas didn't kill her son. She said she had no idea where her son got the gun he used in the shooting, but students interviewed told reporters that it was well known that he had guns.

His mother also claims he was bullied and ostracized, but that too conflicts with what students told reporters.
