What about Dana?

Dana Plato didn't change the world like Gary Coleman did.

His wise-cracks, chubby little cheeks, and that "what chu talkin' bout" catch phrase made the world a better place.

Dana was just kinda annoying filler, and I hear that her porn sucked. Plus, she was reportedly an asshole to Gary and he never got over it. Here he is at her funeral.

I'm not glad that Dana is dead or anything, but I don't mourn her, as I do with Gary. He was like a little black stepbrother to me.

I'm getting choked up here. Enough already.

Thanks, aussie.

It's only been 4 years, still kinda fresh. But, getting a little easier year by year.

Wait til sally's denial ends regarding last month's death of Pa Walton. Your education and expertise handling emotional trauma may come in handy when that reality sets in.

You are right HoTD, I think she is currently going through the numbing phase.

Yea, thats her.
Was just a really great image of her. I have always liked women of a certain vintage that have made the effort and all that.

Bono is a pretentious bog trotter who should sing and otherwise shut the fuck up.

And saying Di was the nicest royal is like saying a healthy and uninjured guy is the most handsome man in a burns unit. Meaningless. If they wanted to do a truly fitting tribute to Di they should have organised a gangbang in a minefield. Goodbye Englands rose!

And fantasy girl?

I used to really like Scarlet Johansson but she pissed me off recently, she dropped out of a charity because they were against the occupied territory in Israel and she does ads for an Israeli company based in the occupied territory. So she puts her blind Jewishness and sponsorship dollar before charity? Fuck you Scarlet!

For a fantasy fuck someone exotic and brown will do, Salma Hayek or Nicole Sherzinger.

On this we disagree greatly CN. Those boys have done massive amounts of humanitarian work. They were involved in the Nelson Mandela story long before it became 'trendy'. Also, when they won album of the year they couldn't enjoy it because he was still incarcerated at that time. Why are you so down on him? Ask the poor and starving in the third world if they want him to just sing. The fact he does all the work he does PROVES he is NOT a pretentious bog trotter. Honestly, I think sometimes because someone is famous and well known around the world we can tend to dehumanise them and assume they are vain and full of themselves. I am with Bob Geldolf on this one, Bono is the real deal and anyone who says different should fuck off. (Not saying that to you CN, just that's what Bob said). Don't forget too, Bob got his arse off the couch in the 80s and thought it was disgusting all that poverty and starvation in Africa whilst Margaret Thatcher was in power.

I know Diana had issues, we all have issues. She had a privileged life. In her book she admits she came from a privileged background she says, 'privileged yes, snobbish no'. She was flawed, I read her book by Andrew Morton, and Patrick Jephson's book. She did try and set him up and fire him, he resigned first. From my observation and understanding, she was trying to find happiness. I am surprised for you to judge her morally, I didn't think that was your bag. I personally, would not fool around with someone else's husband or stray outside of the marriage even if there were problems. But she was very young when she got hitched, and she was way in over her head. I hope my friends and whoever else thinks she died in a car crash was an accident, I think there are unanswered questions that cannot be dismissed as a conspiracy.

She helped significantly to de-stigmatise HIV/AIDS. Initially, sufferers were treated like lepers. Her life was definitely a lark compared to how the rest of us live, but I think she was a good person. That's my take on her. It was ridiculous the way everyone watched what she wore and the magazines promoting all that. I hated all that.

Anyway, she's gone now, I cried all through the funeral. She affected so many people and touched so many people because there was something authentic about her, frocks aside.

Guessing you might be hurting rather than helping your pro-Bono advocacy with CN, aussie.

I remembered he started a thread when Mandela died:

I like some U2 songs -- really like "One".

Bono's not a dream guy for me or anything, but I think it's cool when people put their time and money towards causes that they're passionate about. Celebrities often have more of both than most and if they wanna use that, along with their fame, to attract more exposure for something that they believe in, good for them.

When celebrities hawk products for profit, on the other hand, I think they sometimes come across as kinda dickish. Though, gotta admit, those Jimmy Johnson commercials for Extenze are fine comedic entertainment. They come on really late at night and I've seen a few after news shows over the years -- (unintentionally) funny stuff.

This mock of Jimmy and his product hawking made me laugh in some parts.

Even though they pick on Reagan I still like "Bullet the blue sky" for some reason. maybe because of the guitar.
