BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE -- SAVOPOULOS/FIGUEROA MURDERS, D.C.
He can't hurt & kill them all at once so the others are aware of what's going down and what their fate will be. I think about their fear, not only for themselves but for those they love and the woman who helped take care of their home.

GUILTY

Daron Wint, 37, was found guilty on Thursday of the 2015 slaying slaying of the Savopoulos family and their housekeeper Vera at their home in a wealthy Washington DC neighborhood in what became known as the 'Mansion Murders.'

After two days of deliberation, the federal jury delivered the guilty verdict after a searing six-week trial, in which Wint argued that he was innocent, and tried to pin the killings on his brother and half-brother.

Daron Wint was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder for the deaths of all four people. He faces life in prison without the possibility for release.

The minimum sentence is 30 years on each murder charge. Because Wint was found guilty of aggravating circumstances, that allows for the judge to consider a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Family members of the victims wept as the verdict was announced. Walking out of court, prosecutor Laura Bach said she was relieved that the jurors did the right thing.

At trial, prosecutors admitted the possibility that Wint had help because four people had been taken hostage for 36 hours before they were killed. If that's a fact, I hope Wint's accomplices are brought to justice as well.
