SUPREME COURT: JUSTICE SCALIA DEATH AND SCOTUS CHANGES
(09-28-2018, 07:45 PM)HairOfTheDog Wrote: That's because you project upon others what you want to see Mags. You're tunnel visioned.

I'm working from home now and tuned into MSNBC. Not one person on the liberal station has gotten anywhere near declaring Kavanaugh guilty of sexual assault; not one person in two hours of coverage and about a dozen commentators.

Instead, they're echoing what some of us here expressed yesterday, essentially that Kavanaugh spewed a highly partisan and entitled rant and made for a terrible witness because he angrily tried to turn the tables on the inquiring senators instead of just answering the questions (especially in regards to drinking).

That's the opposite of the judicious temperament and politically neutral position required for a Supreme Court Justice.

Also, Kavanaugh's claims in regards to the meanings of his yearbook entries, along with his oft-repeated "I like beer" declaration, were (disturbingly) hilarious and did not go unnoticed. Those are objective reality-based observations.

So, we'll see what the FBI investigation uncovers. Maybe it will include facts and sworn statements that totally support (or don't refute) Kavanaugh's claims regarding the sexual assault allegations and whatever else is covered in the limited-scope investigation.

Then, those of you who for some reason find Brett Kavanaugh to be a good choice for the Supreme Court can celebrate his confirmation (unless Trump dumps him first).

Yes, I am not surprised by this at all. It is thin end of the wedge type stuff and only the very very stupid fall for it.

Here is the set up. Make untrue accusations one after another about what an immoral and horrible person some one is. Find fault with their every action and smear every aspect of their life and go after their children and spouse.

Then when they react with anger or tears, call them bullies, unhinged or credible tears or say they are having a tantrum.

If ANYONE (Yes that ABSOLUTELY includes members here) pushes this "tantrum" narrative...you are Arseholes. No if or buts.

No, there is actually no justification why this is okay.

To put this in context for those amoung you that cant do a imagining if it were a male relative of yours falsely accused and in a way that is unprovable either way, or who by virtue of their gender are not having to really contemplate a realistic situation where you could get accused of being a rapist, I will ask you to consider what you would do if someone you babysat for as a child suddenly "came out" to someone that you used to fiddle with them. You know this is not true but how do you counter? Soon all types of people are getting involved and through social media it spreads as to what a monster you were. The story is completely untrue and unprovable but people side with this young lady who frames you as some closeted lecherous lesbianic incestuous monster. Her story is mostly consistent but the changes and alterations seem of no importance. She is the victim and she must be believed. But aren't you the victim? Hell she may have been interfered with but not by you?
You get angry and emotional. People remark that you are playing the victim to distract from the monster you are.

Now. Breath in this example. This could be you. I could be accused of terrible stuff from a vindictive ex wife or ex girlfriend or a woman I have spurned or perhaps offended. Kavenaugh is acting with a damn sight more reservation than most so don't for a moment say he is tantruming

Probably also good not to project your own tunnel-vision
