Moore had skeletons and was outed or at least was accused of misconduct. That is the election i do not believe its a barometer of future elections.

Not so. I'm not a Dem and what I posted are facts + my opinions about those facts, not some party/Dem narrative.

If President Trump had stuck with his original position and let the Alabama voters decide, without lending Moore his strong endorsement, it would not have reflected badly on Trump.

However, that's not what he did. Instead, Trump told Alabamans to vote for Moore, despite the fact that Moore is a conspiracy theorist and a religious extremist (and is accused of sexual misconduct with young girls way back in the day).

Trump told Alabamans over and over that he needed to keep that seat Republican in order to get his agenda through. Some Alabamans voted according to Trump's preference, but more Alabamans rejected Trump's call to vote for Moore. Trump and Bannon lost this one and the other side won. That's a fact, no matter how much backpedaling is attempted after-the-fact.

And, Doug Jones is far from an ultra liberal, no matter how much President Trump, Steve Bannon, and the hard-core Evangelicals tell you otherwise. But, I understand that could be subjective for some on the extreme right who think that everyone's who's not on the extreme right is by-default "ultra liberal".

Jones is in fact a moderate to conservative Democrat. He is not soft on crime and he does not support full term abortion -- those were the two most repeated mis-characterizations about Jones floated by Bannon, Trump and Moore. If you're interested in the truth, you can review Jones' statements and record.

Anyway, rational and decent Republicans dodged a bullet with Moore's loss, in my opinion. He thinks God's law (and his interpretation of it) supersedes constitutionality and legality when it comes to public policy. He's shouted that from the rooftop for years and was ousted from the court twice for defying constitutionality and man's law. Moore would have been a nightmare when it came to negotiating legislation.

The Dems and Jones won big last night, no doubt about it. They gained a much-needed Democratic seat in the Senate, in blood-red Alabama no less. But........since Jones is not a liberal Democrat, he's representing a very conservative state, and much of the power in the Democratic party now lies with the liberals........I think Jones is kind of a wild-card for the Dems.

In any case, whether the Dems continue to beat the Republicans in special elections and ride that wave into next year's mid-terms remains to be seen. They've definitely got some momentum going.

The percentage was 48% and 49% give or take a point. Both candidates are religious and that means a lot to the voters. Jones is not as ultra liberal as I have stated, I just did not see much of his campaign as it was overshadowed by the attacks on Moore. He may very well end up being a good senator after reading some of his views. Jones being bathed in Hollywood stars tears means nothing to me though.

At least President Trump's public statement (via tweet) acknowledged that his candidate Moore lost and Jones won. Though Trump's now CYA claiming that he never thought Moore would win, he did congratulate Jones. Good on him for that.

Roy Moore would be wise to follow that lead, man-up, and concede the race. But, of course, that's not the way of Roy Moore.

He refuses to concede and is requesting a recount. He lost by 1.5%, around 20,000 votes. He is not entitled to a tax-payer funded recount since the margin of Jones' victory is not 1% or under.

But, I read that it's possible Moore could pay for a recount. No problem here. I think it would be a waste of time and money, though it might be an effective delay tactic in getting Jones seated.

--Multiple adulterous affairs: check.
--Cited for sexual misconduct with young patients when he was a doctor: check.
--Encouraging and supporting abortions for his ex-wife and young lovers: yep, that too.

Man, these hypocritical Christian Tea Party peeps just need to fade out.

But..............they're still here, for now. You see, God forgives them for all their bullshit. So, Christians vote for them to pass laws restricting everyone else from doing what they've been doing in their own personal lives and we wind up with dipshits like this in the U.S. Congress.

Tennesseans just re-elected the winner, Republican Congressman Scott DesJarlais, for a third term.

His platform was 'family values' and one of his goals is making abortion unconstitutional. What a transparent fraud.
