WASHINGTON DOUCHEBAGGERY & SEXUAL MISCONDUCT
(12-13-2017, 09:24 AM)Maggot Wrote: If Moore won it would reflect badly on Trump, when he lost it reflects badly on Trump. The Dems will push this type of narrative for every election. The voters decided although he lost I expected it. They now have an ultra-liberal and will have to live with it. although the headlines scream that the Republicans are on the ropes because of this election it is really not. Moore had skeletons and was outed or at least was accused of misconduct. That is the election i do not believe its a barometer of future elections.

Not so. I'm not a Dem and what I posted are facts + my opinions about those facts, not some party/Dem narrative.

If President Trump had stuck with his original position and let the Alabama voters decide, without lending Moore his strong endorsement, it would not have reflected badly on Trump.

However, that's not what he did. Instead, Trump told Alabamans to vote for Moore, despite the fact that Moore is a conspiracy theorist and a religious extremist (and is accused of sexual misconduct with young girls way back in the day).

Trump told Alabamans over and over that he needed to keep that seat Republican in order to get his agenda through. Some Alabamans voted according to Trump's preference, but more Alabamans rejected Trump's call to vote for Moore. Trump and Bannon lost this one and the other side won. That's a fact, no matter how much backpedaling is attempted after-the-fact.

And, Doug Jones is far from an ultra liberal, no matter how much President Trump, Steve Bannon, and the hard-core Evangelicals tell you otherwise. But, I understand that could be subjective for some on the extreme right who think that everyone's who's not on the extreme right is by-default "ultra liberal".

Jones is in fact a moderate to conservative Democrat. He is not soft on crime and he does not support full term abortion -- those were the two most repeated mis-characterizations about Jones floated by Bannon, Trump and Moore. If you're interested in the truth, you can review Jones' statements and record.

Anyway, rational and decent Republicans dodged a bullet with Moore's loss, in my opinion. He thinks God's law (and his interpretation of it) supersedes constitutionality and legality when it comes to public policy. He's shouted that from the rooftop for years and was ousted from the court twice for defying constitutionality and man's law. Moore would have been a nightmare when it came to negotiating legislation.

The Dems and Jones won big last night, no doubt about it. They gained a much-needed Democratic seat in the Senate, in blood-red Alabama no less. But........since Jones is not a liberal Democrat, he's representing a very conservative state, and much of the power in the Democratic party now lies with the liberals........I think Jones is kind of a wild-card for the Dems.

In any case, whether the Dems continue to beat the Republicans in special elections and ride that wave into next year's mid-terms remains to be seen. They've definitely got some momentum going.

The percentage was 48% and 49% give or take a point. Both candidates are religious and that means a lot to the voters. Jones is not as ultra liberal as I have stated, I just did not see much of his campaign as it was overshadowed by the attacks on Moore. He may very well end up being a good senator after reading some of his views. Jones being bathed in Hollywood stars tears means nothing to me though.

At least President Trump's public statement (via tweet) acknowledged that his candidate Moore lost and Jones won. Though Trump's now CYA claiming that he never thought Moore would win, he did congratulate Jones. Good on him for that.

Roy Moore would be wise to follow that lead, man-up, and concede the race. But, of course, that's not the way of Roy Moore.

He refuses to concede and is requesting a recount. He lost by 1.5%, around 20,000 votes. He is not entitled to a tax-payer funded recount since the margin of Jones' victory is not 1% or under.

But, I read that it's possible Moore could pay for a recount. No problem here. I think it would be a waste of time and money, though it might be an effective delay tactic in getting Jones seated.

--Multiple adulterous affairs: check.
--Cited for sexual misconduct with young patients when he was a doctor: check.
--Encouraging and supporting abortions for his ex-wife and young lovers: yep, that too.

Man, these hypocritical Christian Tea Party peeps just need to fade out.

But..............they're still here, for now. You see, God forgives them for all their bullshit. So, Christians vote for them to pass laws restricting everyone else from doing what they've been doing in their own personal lives and we wind up with dipshits like this in the U.S. Congress.

Tennesseans just re-elected the winner, Republican Congressman Scott DesJarlais, for a third term.

His platform was 'family values' and one of his goals is making abortion unconstitutional. What a transparent fraud.

This hypocritical asshole didn't try to restrict how people live their lives and isn't in Washington. But, the story fits with the theme of this thread.

^ NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman resigned last night, shortly after a Ronan Farrow article in New Yorker magazine was released and NY Governor Andrew Cuomo called for him to step down.

Four women he dated have accused Schneiderman of sexual and physical abuse; two of them saying they sought medical treatment after he hit and/or choked them in bed when he was drinking.

None of the four women went to the police when the alleged assaults went down. They say that Schneiderman intimidated them, told them that he was the law, and threatened them with surveillance and such.

During his time as AG, Schneiderman was a darling of the left -- he pushed through laws protecting women against domestic violence, was a vocal supporter of #MeToo, and successfully sued Donald Trump for the Trump University scam.

The NY state legislator will appoint a new state AG to fill the vacancy and the state says the Attorney General's office and cases will continue to move forward with business as usual.

Schneiderman released a public statement last night saying that while he engaged in intimate role-playing, he has not subjected any woman to non-consensual sexual activity and would never cross that line.

President Trump is loving it, of course, and tweeted about how it's only gonna get worse for Schneiderman. Schneiderman is a vocal critic of Trump and has legally challenged several of Trump's proposed policies in court.

It sure does! Such an incredible amount of hypocrisy.

I'd really love to see Preet run for that position, the only thing better would be Hillary. hah That won't happen but makes me laugh nonetheless.

The funny thing is Schneiderman was all about preventing women from getting choked and was adamant at protecting against it but he loved to do it in the bedroom. Do as I say not as I do. What a freak! I hear Hillary needs a job.

Former Oklahoma state Sen. Ralph Shortey, a conservative Republican who ran on family values, headed up President Donald Trump’s campaign in that state.

He was busted in a Super 8 motel with a 17-year-old male whom he'd solicited for sex on Craigslist back in March.  Shortey also had illicit photos of young males in his possession and was hit with child porn and child sex trafficking charges.

Shortey, a former missionary and married father of 4, just agreed to avoid trial and plead guilty on the sex trafficking charges in exchange for having the child porn charges dropped.

UPDATE:  Hypocritical douchebag Ralph Shortey was sentenced on Monday. The former Republican state senator in Oklahoma was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for child sex trafficking.

Once he is released from prison, he will be subject to 10 years supervised probation and pay a fine which could be as much as $250,000.  https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/for...ng-n910516

Given the party you associate yourself with I can understand why this wouldn't be a problem for you.

This was not a kid, this was a grown man, a fucking doctor, certainly old enough to know better. Fuck 'em. He needs to resign. Al Franken got kicked to the curb and he was a comedian being a comedian when a picture surfaced and he was pushed out. It's called having standards. I can post the definition for all the republicans who haven't a clue what that actually means. Coonman has got to go.

Who was the party of the KKK at its strength?
Who was the party supporting slavery?
Who was the party supporting Jim Crow?

I think Maggot supports the Republican party given that he does I would say that this does not make the point you are trying for, does it?

That's like saying all republicans are racist. I myself don't think wearing blackface 30 years ago has anything to do with today's politically correct crowd. If it was done last year sure. How far back do you go to discredit people. I don't like the guy because he has the balls to try and pass a third trimester bill to abort. He also said that when the baby was born they would revive it enough to allow the parents to decide its fate..................................

Nevermind, string him up in the town square and pelt him with tomatoes.
